Just wanted to let you all know that West Brook’s journalism program was a featured school during the Journalism Education Association’s Scholastic Journalism Week 2024 on their Twitter/X account!

This week, we received a certificate that was awarded to yearbook editor Ariel Letman and newspaper editor Mali Waters. We are so proud of them!

The Bear Cave was a building dedicated to the freshman class since 2018 and an iconic building at our beloved school where all incoming freshmen had the majority of their first high school classes. The dress code for the 2023-2024 school year has been controversial among the student body. Some of the students think it’s unfairly enforced, but others think that it is good and makes sense.

The Beaumont ISD dress code does not allow students or staff members to wear hoodies, ripped jeans, leggings as pants, or sleeveless shirts.

West Brook’s Human Growth and Development teacher Martha Dean said she wants to shed light on the dangers of teenage pregnancy and how to navigate it safely if anyone finds themselves in this situation. She has taught this class at West Brook since 2018.

Coach Daniel Foster said his love for shoes goes back to his own time in high school, but he has recently become involved in the sneaker community in the last five years. He is a big advocate for the sneaker community.

His goal is to build this community at West Brook as well, showcasing his outfits and shoes on TikTok.

Discovering the surprising number of languages spoken by students in the District may give you a case of “culture shock.”

The West Brook Cross Country freshman team showcased their talent and hard work at the Clear Falls Invitational Meet.

West Brook won first place in the freshman division, coming out on top over the 20 other teams that attended the meet on Aug. 18.

Dr. Donna Prudhomme, the BISD Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE), has been awarded the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) Administrator of the Year. At the same time, Olivia Douglas, the College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Coordinator at Beaumont United High School, has been honored with the CTAT Counseling and Career Development Professional Award.
