This is Colette speaking. I am the owner of AstroTyrant, and lead developer for Stardust Citadel. I don't post here myself often, relegating that to my marketing team, but I thought that this would be a good time to explain some of the mechanics myself.
I've always had a love for space and strategy games. I used to watch movies and anime based on virtual reality. In these games, there were little to no scripted events. NPCs behaved like real characters and these games felt more real than even the best open world games that exist today. With the current era of advanced AI, I realized that they could be used to create the kind of game I'd always wanted to play. I watched a video of an AI that taught itself how to play Minecraft by writing code and then I knew for certain it was possible with technology that existed NOW. The path to Stardust Citadel was clear.
The current goal isn't to get *quite* to that point, but essentially, the AI and game go back and forth. The AI is able to call code. This allows you to interact with the AI in a complex nuanced way. You will be able to negotiate trade deals. The AI (ChatGPT) keeps track of important world information, then calls methods and creates quests.
This is a world simulation game fortress building, a very complex game in the genre of games like Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress. I truly believe in what this game can become and I've invested heavily in it myself both in terms of time and money, but continued development is only going to be possible with your help, so please support us on Indiegogo.
