I used to be able to hop on a stage and talk about . . . whatever ... to whomever.

For some crazy reason, the past few years have given me a little extra anxiety about giving prepared presentations to a live, in-person audience. Luckily, I have some fantastic humans in some fabulous local networking groups who are willing to let me face my fears and practice some new and improved presentation skills with them.

No matter how good we are at everything else, there's always something we can learn or improve.

We’re thrilled to have some new followers here at Actually Social, so let’s say a big hello and a warm welcome. It’s the perfect time to reintroduce myself and our business.

If we haven’t met before, hi! I’m Shannon, the human behind Actually Social.

I help business owners take charge of their social and email marketing with customized consulting and management designed to increase engagement and visibility. I also specialize in creating killer content and lead magnets for email list building.

Here are some fun facts about me:

💀 Before diving into the world of digital marketing, I spent nearly 25 years in the dental field. From treating patients to office management, I had my hand in almost every aspect of the dental business. I especially loved chatting with patients and marketing the exciting new treatments that were available. That’s where I discovered my love for social marketing.
💀 I’m a foodie! I love trying creative dishes from all over the world. I even tried Haggis on a recent trip across the pond!
💀 The spookier, the better! I’m a huge fan of horror movies and Stephen King! I especially love a classic ghost story or monster flick, and pretty much anything from the 80s! You might catch a reference or two about that as time goes on. 😉

Well, look at that … it’s MAY!

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Halloween, scary movies, and all things spooky, so it might surprise you to know that I am a huge fan of the Spring/Summer season.

Granted, since moving to the middle of the Arizona desert nearly 20 years ago, it’s taken a while to get back to that frame of mind, but I love this time of year when we are between the two seasons: it’s just about warm enough to play in the water, but not so hot that you can fry an egg on the pavement.

Seriously- people DO that here.

For me, May and June are a time for starting fresh and having fun—not just in my daily life but also in my business. So, this year, I’m excited to kick off this fun little mid-season with some fresh new changes in my business that will lead to stronger consistency, up-leveled service for my (freakishly amazing) clients, and more FUN all around.

I’m excited to share some of these changes with you in the coming weeks, but for now, I would love to hear what changes YOU are looking to make in YOUR business.
