We are dedicated to bringing you current and up to date Severe Weather posts from all over the state of Missouri. We are based out of our home town of St. Louis, but we have freelance meteorologists and meteorology enthusiasts who help report from all over the Show Me State! We were founded in January 2011 after an uncommon severe weather event that struck the cities of Fenton and Sunset Hills on

New Years Day back in 2011. Our Chief Spotter and Founder, Tex Frank, posted updates via social media on his personal pages and came up with the idea for what was then, Tornado Hunters: St. We have since expanded over the years with the help of thousands of followers from all over Missouri and even some as far as New York, Mississippi, Nevada...and Germany! Our team is now made up of 7 individuals who dedicated their time to make sure our fellow Missourians and our neighbors in Illinois can stay safe in the event of severe weather events which now include blizzards, flooding, wildfires, and of course tornadoes. We are a non-profit organization and our crew is strictly volunteer based. Every Spring, we post Safety Briefings via our page to give everyone ideas about their safety procedures they would need to take including things like first-aid, escape routes, survival kits, and what to do in the event of entrapment. Another life saved is another life changed for the better! Living in Tornado Alley, education and survival are key. We are celebrating 10 amazing years in 2021 and we hope to celebrate another great decade protecting and educating everyone! Stay safe and remember to keep a weather eye on the sky!

A Tornado WARNING has been issued for Jefferson County in Eastern Missouri. Radar has a CONFIRMED Tornado near Cedar Hill.

If you are in the path of this storm, SEEK SHELTER NOW! This is a CONFIRMED damaging tornado on the ground, per radar!

This storm is moving southeast at 45mph.

Southeastern Warren County in east central Missouri...

* Until 1230 PM CDT.

* At 1137 AM CDT, a tornado producing storm was located over Treloar,
moving south at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

CODE RED ALERT FLASH FLOOD WARNING. (Just got the phone call)

WASHINGTON COUNTY IL
I 64 is closed at NASHVILLE, IL exit!
The dam has failed and secondary dam has failed.
Evacuations are underway.

SALEM, IL levee failure- evacuations underway. I 57 exits have opened back up but may close.

TORNADO WARNING - Callaway County, MO

A Tornado WARNING has been issued for Callaway County in Central Missouri. This storm is moving southeast at 30mph.

Rotation has been confirmed by radar as well as quarter sized hail. This storm is capable of producing an isolated tornado and is just outside Kingdom City. Residents in Kingdom City, Fulton, and soon Chamois are advised to SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER at this time!

Night time tornadoes are not visible until there are power flashes or lightning and a lot of times are rain wrapped.

TORNADO WARNING - Boone County, MO

A Tornado WARNING has been issued for Boone County in Central Missouri. Radar has indicated rotation as well as a risk of hail up to 1" in diameter.

This storm is just southeast of Clark headed southeast at 30mph. Residents in Centralia and Hallsville are advised to SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER at this time!

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - Northerwestern Missouri

⛔️EXPIRED⛔️

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Buchanan, Caldwell, Clinton, and DeKalb Counties in Northwestern Missouri. This storm was spotted near Plattsburgh moving east at 25mph. Radar indicated upwards of 60mph wind gusts as well as 1" sized hail.

Residents are advised to stay indoors at this time. Immediate areas effected are: Cameron, Plattsburgh, Mirabile, Polo, and Lawson.

TORNADO WARNING UPDATE - Dunklin/Pemiscot County, MO

The Tornado WARNING in Southern Dunklin/Pemiscot County has been expanded at this time. This storm is moving east at roughly 50mph. Reports of 1" sized hail and radar indicated rotation are risks with this storm and it also has the capability of producing a Nocturnal Rain Wrapped Tornado.

Residents near Senath, Hornersville, Steele, Cardwell, and Rives are advised to SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER at this time!

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been expanded to now include the counties of: Macon, Randolph, Monroe, and Audrain.

This set of storms are moving southeast at roughly 30mph and have radar indicated 60+mph wind gusts and up to ping pong sized hail. Residents within the paths of these storms are advised to stay indoors at this time.

Areas effected are: Jacksonville, Cairo, Paris, Madison, Macon.

A second Tornado WARNING has just been issued for the southern tip of Missouri's Bootheel. This storm was spotted near Oak Grove Heights and Paragould in Arkansas and will pass through Southern Dunklin County. The previous Tornado WARNING remains active near Campbell and Kennett, MO.

Residents in the path of this storm are advised to SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER at this time! These areas include: Kennett, Campbell, Hornersville, Cardwell, Wardell, Hayti, Caruthersville, Portageville, and Tallapoosa.

STORM DAMAGE - St. Louis County, MO

Below, we have some storm damage pictures taken by our Lead Spotter, Tex and his wife, Geanna, across Southern St. Louis County between Fenton and Oakville. No noticeable structural damages were spotted, but traffic lights and trees were damaged or completely destroyed.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING - Northern Missouri

Two storms have been given a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Northern Missouri. Our first storm was spotted near Pattonsburg and Gallatin in Daviess County with reports of up to 1" sized hail and radar indicated wind gusts of 60+mph. This storm is moving southeast at 30mph towards Jamesport, Lock Springs, and Chillicothe.

The second set of storms were spotted near La Plata, Ethel, Atlanta, and Macon Adair, Linn, and Macon Counties. This set of Severe Thunderstorms are moving southeast at roughly 30mph with radar indicated 60+mph wind gusts and ping pong sized hail reported.

A Tornado WARNING has been issued in the Bootheel of Missouri in Dunklin County. This storm is moving east at 35mph, with radar indicated rotation and up to golf ball sized hail.

Residents within the path of this storm are advised to SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER at this time. This includes Pollard, Piggott, and Rector in Arkansas as well as areas between Campbell and Kennett in Missouri.

We are still monitoring a Tornado WARNED storm with a CONFIRMED TORNADO on the ground near Winona, MO. This storm is moving east towards Van Buren at 45mph. Weather Spotters are still monitoring the Tornado.

Residents in Fremont and Van Buren are advised to SEEK SGELTER NOW! Again, this is a CONFIRMED TORNADO at this time.

A CONFIRMED TORNADO was reported near the town of Birch Tree in Southern Shannon County. Residents near the towns of Birch Tree and Winona need to SEEK SHELTER NOW!

Again, this is a CONFIRMED TORNADO on the ground near Birch Tree. This storm is moving east at 30mph headed towards Van Buren, MO at this time.

The storm in Texas County, near Huston, has a CONFIRMED TORNADO at this time, indicated by trained Weather spotters. Residents need to SEEK SHELTER NOW in Houston and Raymondville in Texas County! Again, this is a CONFIRMED TORNADO.

A new Tornado WANRING has been issued for Jefferson, St. Louis, and Franklin Counties.

A storm just north of Gray Summit, MO shows radar indicated rotation. This storm is moving east at 35mph and has the potential to produce a tornado. Residents within the path of this storm are advised to SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER at this time. This includes areas along I-44 from Gray Summit, Eureka, and Sunset Hills. Byrnes Mill, High Ridge, Fenton, and Manchester are also within the path.

A Tornado WARNING has been issued for Wright and Texas Counties in Southern Missouri. This storm is moving east at roughly 40mph. Radar has indicated hail and 60+mph wind gusts as well as rotation.

Residents within the path of this storm are advised to SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER at this time! Mainly Upton and Houston, MO at this immediate time.

Many more Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been issued for areas stretching from Alton, IL to Springfield, MO.

These storms are moving east at this time and have numerous report of 60+mph winds a hail up to 2.75" in diameter. This is a situation that could get worse, especially south of Jefferson City and St. Louis.

We will continue to monitor these storms as the evening progresses.

Several more storms have been given a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. These storms include the counties of:

Franklin, Gasconade, Warren, Camden, Maries, Miller, Morgan, Cole, Osage, Laclede, Wright, Webster, Dallas, Greene, Polk, Benton, Hickory, St. Clair, Barry, Lawrence, Newton, McDonald

These storms are all traveling east and there are numerous reports of 60+mph wind gusts as well as hail measuring from pea sized to upwards of 2.75" in some areas. Residents within the paths of these storms are advised to stay indoors. We will continue to monitor these storms, but as for right now, our main point is the storm near Jefferson City and Osage Beach.

We are monitoring a line of several Severe Thunderstorms through Central Missouri, stemming from Kansas to just outside the St. Louis area. They are moving east at this time.

These storms are capable of producing wind gusts 60mph+, heavy rain, and a risk of hail and flash flooding. These storms are growing in strength, so we will be following them all, closely.

Hey guys! I'm on vacation this week but I sure can't get away from the weather! I'm visiting a friend who recently moved from Illinois to Florida. You can tell we are from the Midwest when a waterspout forms and we just watch/video it. It fizzled out when it hit land again. -Kris
