Welcome to the Smoke Show Barbecue, a family owned restaurant that would swing open it doors in May of the year 2024 but unfortunately they would have to close their doors in the same year December of 2024. Operated by Eric and Ashley Jones, the ultimate pitmasters, who would inspire your taste buds. The Smoke Show Barbecue used to be the go-to spot as it could once be found located at 127 S. Main Street, in New Haven, Ky, this incredible restaurant used to serve amazing finger licking smoked wings, brisket, pulled pork, and non-barbecue hamburgers. They even served grilled and crispy chicken. This fantastic one-stop shop offered gasoline and a crazy range of convenience items, including snacks, beverages, to***co products, alcohol, lottery tickets, and more, because, well, you never knew what you might have needed. Oh, and they also had VHS movie rentals, I mean who didn't love a good Friday night movie night? Super America could have once been strategically found located at 721 N 3rd St, Bardstown, Ky, a site currently occupied by Sonic restaurant today.

Welcome to the former Moby Dick Restaurant, previously located at 211 W John Rowan Blvd in Bardstown, Kentucky. Where they served enough fried foods to put a cardiologist's kid through college. Moby Dick offered an impressive array of fried foods, who needs a beach body whenever you could have a bucket of fried shrimp? Their menu featured fried fish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, fried onion rings, fried mushrooms, fried green tomatoes, fried clams, fried hush puppies, fried okra, and notably, one of the most flavorful bratwurst options available. It is truly regrettable that this dining experience cannot be replicated.

Welcome to the old Hardee's spot at 707 N Third St, Bardstown, Ky, where the only thing more vintage than the building was the clientele. This Hardee's joint first opened its doors in 1980 and sadly closed up shop in 2024. I swear, every morning, a crew of elderly gentlemen would roll in for coffee, breakfast, and for some serious chit chat until about around noo time. Let's be real, folks, this place will forever be known as Hardee's, since it was the one restaurant to ever call this building home since way back in 1980.

Welcome to the Keystone Cinema, which swung open its doors on December 17, 1999, and then sadly face-planted shut on April 28, 2022. With a whopping seating capacity of 1,480, the cinema was like a fancy-schmancy entertainment complex, featuring a teeny arcade game room, private party rooms for all your birthday shenanigans, and a snack bar serving up the essentials: popcorn and drinks. After over 20 years of bringing movie magic to the masses, Keystone Cinema closed its doors permanently, and today, the building is home to the Nelson County South East Christian Church. This may be the last movie theater to ever stand in Bardstown, Kentucky, as the industry continues to morph into something entirely new. Yep, times have changed, and this shift is sadly probably here to stay.

After school, children would flock to the B&B ice cream shop as if it was the most exciting destination ever. The shop was a genuine delight ice cream shop, offering an extensive array of ice cream flavors, milkshakes, music from the jukebox, and pinball machines. Although the ice cream was exceptional, indulging in a sweet treat has lost its appeal. 🍨 B&B Ice Cream's original location was on N 3rd Street, Bardstown, Ky, which is now occupied by Arlene's Barbershop. It is undeniable that their ice cream was so extraordinarily good. 😉
