DPW ANNOUNCES NEW DUMPSTER PROGRAM FOR 2025

Baltimore City Department of Public Works Updates Community Pitch-In Dumpster Request Program to Support Equitable Resource Distribution

Under the previous program, only community association presidents were eligible to request dumpsters for clean-up efforts. The revised program eliminates this restriction, allowing any resident or group to request assistance from DPW, regardless of their affiliation with a community association. The program enables each neighborhood to request up to four dumpsters per year, with DPW overseeing and managing their distribution to ensure fairness across neighborhoods.

The Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services (MOHS) has extended the current Code Purple winter shelter activation through Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
Residents who are in need of emergency shelter should call the Baltimore City Shelter Hotline at (443) 984-9540 which has extended hours of operation during winter shelter activation days.
☎️ On weekdays, the Shelter Hotline will be open from 8:30 am - 9:00 pm
☎️ On weekends, the Shelter Hotline will be open from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
🕔 For assistance between 9:00 pm - 12:00 am midnight on any day, please call the Winter Shelter Hotline at 443-695-7378.

We're sad to share the passing of our Canton neighbor and long-time animal rescuer, Cindy Ciarpella. She gave tirelessly for 20+ years to the TNR program in our city. Now, her kitties are the ones in need.
