I seem to have having a job to catch up with myself at the moment - so late posting again!
I saw everyone this morning - it was quite nice out - a little warmer and it looked as if it might be sunny - but that didn't happen!
Thankfully my dog is a lot better today and doesn't seem to having any problems eating. He was pretty much like his old self as the day wore on. It's amazing being able to bounce back after all those teeth he had extracted yesterday.
All the squirrels were fine - Grace and Freda waiting for me. Mr. Bickles not far away and soon came. Buster came quickly too but he soon got cleared up before I went back around again a bit later.
I finally got my pumpkin carved... yes I know I am late with that too! I have never done one before and it turned out not too badly... it is now outside for the squirrels to eat - but if I remember rightly, they didn't much care for it last year. Ivy seems to eat everything - I put the pumpkin out close to the little house - she was quite interested in it and I took a few photos - but haven't had chance to check through them yet... something for another day!
Everyone was present and waiting this evening - I am trying to get them fed earlier as the clocks change this weekend. It's going to make things more complicated I suppose - always difficult to get used to the change!
The last three photos I took are of Ivy and I'm using the illustration mode on my camera - it's quite fun and the results are interesting! Hope you like them!

Welcome to all new and old friends to hear the
The Great Horned Squirrel’s Halloween Raid

Gather round everyone and you shall hear
Of the Halloween raid
By the Great Horned Squirrel!
Now don’t be afraid
And hide in a barrel.

Do you hear him
Comin thru the trees?
Ridin with the wind
And shakin all the leaves
As he looks round with an evil grin.

With his eyes so red
And breath so foul
He’s sure to cause trouble
As he gives an evil scowl
Peerin thru the corn stubble.

He has only one thing in mind.
He’s lookin for food to steals
From all good squirrels
Who have stored their winter meals.
You can see he has no morals!

Watch out for the Great Horned Squirrel!
He’s drawing near!
He’s comin to steal our food!
He’s something to fear
Cause he’s up to no good!

All the squirrels of the woods and fields
Gathered in a scurry
To decide how to stop
His evil fury
Before he steals all their winter crop.

“What can we do?” They said
One to another,
“To stop him from takin
Our nuts for the winter!
We must all get to thinkin!”

“I know”, said one squirrel,
“We can ask the elves and fairies
To help us solve this riddle!
They might have some theories
To make him skedaddle!”

Elves, fairies and squirrels all got together
To devise a trick instead of a treat,
By comin up with a plan
Sure to beat
This menace from their land.

They all laughed and chattered
As they built the device
While they sent out scouts
To act as spies
To give out a shout.

Do you hear him
Comin thru the trees?
Ridin with the wind
And shakin all the leaves
As he looks round with an evil grin.

With the device built,
They all waited until they heard,
“I see him with my own eyes!”
Came the word
From one of the spies!

The Great Horned Squirrel had arrived!
He dropped to the ground
As the squirrels ran for the trees
He looked around
And followed them with ease.

Now, this was all planned
They were followin a map,
Sure to lead him
Toward a gap
Shadowed and dim.

As they ran thru the gap,
The menacin beast
Was following close
Sure to find his Halloween feast,
When suddenly he froze!

For up from the forest floor,
Sprang a device
Causin him to stop and scream in terror,
As he faced a crisis
Of seein himself in a mirror!

The Great Horned Squirrel
Turned tail and ran,
For seein his terrible face
Changed his Halloween plan!
And all the winter food was safe!

Do you hear him
Runnin away thru the trees?
Sure he had seen a demon
On Halloween Eve,
Never more to return and face that apparition!
