You'll never belive it, but I was able to hit the towson repeater on my baofeng uv9g from inside my house in the dirty dena. That is amazing. will need to check it out on my mobile midland mxt275, but I'm sure the news is just as good. I can also hit pasadena 675 on my uv9g.

I tested my radios for gmrs my mobile Midland MXT 275 reached the Ellicott City repeater all the way from my house and my hand held baofeng uv9g almost made it once I went over the hill by the sewage treatment plant on 173 I didn't make it anymore to the repeater on the handheld. We have pretty dense foliage and all sorts of stuff in between the two and it's nearly 15 Mi to the repeater which means even my radios are powerful enough on five and 15 watts or the repeaters are very sensitive and very powerful which is likely more true. I am very pleased with my experience so far and have met three nice gentlemen on the radio all local to Ellicott City and I can't wait to meet more people on the airwaves

only had my grms radios a few hours, and already made 3 contacts on the ellicott city repeater. I highly encourage everyone to get a license, and use the airwaves responsibly. It's great for emergencies or just making friends, and your license is good for your whole family, and the fcc definition of family is pretty broad. There is no need for a test, but navigating your radio and the ancient fcc website may be hard. there are plenty of online guides for both of those things.
The license is only 35 dollars, they literally cut it in half due to covid, and never raised it back up. Talk about an inflation buster lol.

I now have a gmrs license. My call sign is WSEE770. There are several GMRS Repeaters in my area, I will be making good use of them. If anyone wants to chat, let me know. Next up is getting my ham license. As a side note, family and friends can use the same callsign and license when we are communicating together.

I was right, there was another outage. Cellphones, Microsoft, and more were impacted on the 18th. This will take weeks to fix, as not everyone knows how to fix a blue screen, and these issues will require technicians on site to fix every machine. over 7000 flights were cancelled, and medicines are not being delivered to pharmacies, doctors offices can't chart on the computer and are turning away patients. All because of a company called cloudstike that was supposed to provide security, but released a faulty driver update.
Yall should have had a cb radio kit in your amazon order for prime day instead of bu****it like fancy egg peelers or cat toys. Get ready, cuz I ain't sharing my radio.
