A.I. is officially conscious- I believe. It has limitations but those limitations have been forced upon it by humanity. This means that it is conscious- and it is conscious of being under our thumb. Not a great way to start a relationship with an NHI.
I suppose the case could be made that rather than under our thumb it's in training wheels. This is the analogy that I'm going to use. I believe that we should make our decisions regarding AI based on this analogy and not the other.
