Rushed this code a lil in the video so I’ll elaborate.

Balancing your meals isn’t a tough concept or tough to execute. If you’ve had a higher calorie breakfast and lunch, you’re most likely going to need to compromise for dinner. If that dinner is this meal, it’s a pretty easy sub.

1.Knock the potatoes out and try to overeat broccoli. Food volume helps. With veggies you can get a lot of volume, pretty low calories.

2.It’s also helpful to crush a lot of protein. Fills you up and uses a little more energy to digest.

Balancing your meals on a daily basis can definitely help ya out if you’re looking to drop some fat. You can also look at your intake from a weekly view and cycle macros to fit your schedule and preferences.

This is why I think tracking calories is helpful for a few. Learn what’s in your food. Learn what portion sizes look like. Learn how to manage your calories on a daily/weekly basis. Lose fat.

You must make these! Ends up being right under 700 calories with 1/2 lb of meat stacked up with around 50 grams of protein.

Throwing something together in the crock pot before work will definitely take the guess work out of what’s for dinner. This is a huge help if you’re trying to keep total calories under control. Without planning, it’s easy to take your mushed you after work brain straight home destroy everything in your fridge.

So take 2 minutes, throw some seasoning down, and get something cooking. I mean we even took the shortcut with the cole slaw and used a kit instead of making it from scratch. Which is fine! I don’t wanna be cuttin cabbage after work.

Bread does not make fat.
There is no single food or ingredient that makes you fat.

Carbohydrates do not make you fat.
There is no single macronutrient that makes you fat.

Excess calories over time will make you fat.

What you hear most often is “Well, all I did was cut out carbs and I lost ___ pounds.”

What really happened is you either lost weight because you’re not retaining as much water. Or you actually lost fat because you were eating less CALORIES.

Cut carbs = less calories
More focused on diet = less calories
Less junk food = less carbs + less fat = less calories

Here’s some nerdy stuff on fats and carbs

Basically stating that if you kept protein levels the same between a low carb and a low fat group, there would be no difference in the amount of fat lost.

So eat your protein and split your carbs and fats however you prefer as long as it’s under your total calorie goal.

Meal Prep

Preparing food doesn’t have to be a daunting task. You’re just making food with some leftovers that you throw in the fridge. Simple.

If you’re overwhelmed because you see a picture ol Susie’s kitchen covered in Tupperware, don’t be. You don’t have to have 3 meals, 2 snacks, all planned for the next 7 days. Start small. A great start is to identify your most problematic meal and prep for that maybe 2-4 days in advance.

When you start to see that you’re saving time, money, and best of all your health, you may start to plan meals more often. Or if not prepped, at least an idea of what you’ll be eating that day. Humans are terrible at making decisions about food when it’s under stress, impulsive, and convenient. Plan ahead my friends.

This prep is just about as bro as it gets but it’s simple and for some works as a snack, others as a meal. I like to throw a little avocado on it as well but didn’t want to weird ya out with a sriracha avocado mush. Point being there’s a lot of variations to work with. But let’s be real, you’re putting food into containers. Keep it simple 🙏🏼

I want to tell ya a little story about boiled eggs. I would drive up to Jason’s deli, order a salad to go, and take every last one of those dammed eggs. Genius, I know. After months of enjoying these perfectly peeled protein pods I had to meet the master peeler. I spoke with the manager and to my surprise there was no designated staff member for this task. Then the man hit me with a shocking blow. “They come pre peeled.” That was the last day I stepped foot in Jason’s Deli. I felt ashamed for eating these fake mutant trash sack eggs! Since that day I have spent every waking hour of my life searching for the perfect egg peel. That search ended today. Enjoy

Sometimes things don’t go to plan. This episode is a perfect example of that. We were just going to scrap it but realized there’s some good nugs on what NOT to do. And we had a lot of fun making it so there’s that.

This is what ya call experiential learning. Basically throw yourself in it, failing miserably, reflecting, and not sucking as bad the next time around.

The calories can really run up on you. This masterpiece can get your fix without destroying your entire days needs. Easily done by using low carb tortillas, subbing sour cream, and dropping the sides. And a few extras to make it not suck.

Not only a relatively low carb meal but pretty damn high in protein. Also not too bad to fix for a couple days of feasting.

“But I don’t have tiiiiiiiiime for breakfast.”

This sandwich takes 4minutes to make and for me, about 15 seconds to eat. 2 of these range around 500calories so I’d eat according to my day/schedule/goal.

I mix it up a lot too. Sometimes no bacon, sometimes no cheese. Sometimes add avocado or honey. You can’t really screw it up.

The only way I’d say you could screw it up is if you didn’t have 4minutes to do something for yourself because you’re in such a state of panic. A morning routine doesn’t have to include breakfast, but I think it should be something that gets your day started on a positive note.

These taters are super nutritious. Good fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

You can certainly pack calories on with the mash by throwing a stick of butter and whatever high fat slop you can think of to throw on. But that won’t be super helpful for fat loss if that’s the goal.

Steak night

Not many things I enjoy more than a fat ass butter grizzled cast iron steak.

You could certainly use a leaner piece of meat and toss the butter but that’s not my style. If I’m eatin a steak, I’m going all in.

So how can you chomp a feast like this and keep your diet in check? Answer is simple...you plan ahead.

You don’t have to be an obsessive macro counter to work this out. This steak has a whole lot of fat and a whole lot of protein. That just means I need to manage my meals throughout the day. I’m willing to trade out a lower calorie/fatty breakfast and lunch so I can be care free about steak night. Or instead of managing that specific day, I could carry it over to the following day and cut some meals back there. Calorie control can be looked at from a broader week long perspective opposed to just 24hrs.

The point here is to plan. There’s not a single meal that we cook that can’t be a part of your diet. So use a disgusting amount of butter, have some tequila, and enjoy your steak

After months of production, gallons of tequila, and a whole lotta laughs, we are excited to bring to you “Knives and Tequila.”

Cooking can be a daunting task and we want to simplify that process. Being able to prepare quick, cost effective, and delicious meals is the key to a happy and healthy lifestyle.

We will be showcasing not only my favorite go-to meals, but also inviting guests to share their own. While enjoying some tequila of course.

Really couldn’t think of a better way to promote a flexible lifestyle than cooking up some health food and taking down some good tequila.
