Today I reclaimed a part of my childhood thanks to

The year is 2001, it’s Christmas morning.

This was probably the most memorable Christmas in all of my childhood. I was 10 years old and had just been introduced to Pokemon about two years before when the first episode ran on WB kids.

I had been in love with the show and collecting the cards. But my grandparents told me I had to wait until I turned 10 years old before I could play the games 🎮

My birthday was the 23rd and I had a feeling that I was going to get something pokemon related and I hoped that it was a gameboy with pokemon silver.

When I opened my stocking I found a loose copy of pokemon Yellow and immediately got hype and had a manic ADHD episode.

So here I was , 10 years old and having and ADHD outburst of joy. Waited as I opened each present one by one. I was waiting to hit the kid lottery and get this gameboy.

The last present under the tree filled me with anticipation. It was rectangle and the wrapping was the original 151 theme.

I opened the present with the ferocity of a Tasmanian devil.

IT WAS A NEW COPY OF SILVER!!!!

After my excitement had subsided I came to a realization.

How could I play the games without a gameboy? I asked my family with trepidation in my heart.

My grandpa Georgie told me “we said you had to be 10 years old to get a pokemon game, but you have to be 11 to get a Gameboy”

I was devastated.

I had told all my friends before winter break that I was getting a gameboy and could trade with them. 😭

As the realization that I would have to wait another year to play Pokemon began to set in. My mom came around the corner with 1 last present 🥹

With hope in my heart I opened the last gift of the holiday season.

My heart was pounding as I realized what held in my hands.

Not only was it a brand new gameboy color……

IT WAS THE POKÉMON GOLD AND SILVER GAMEBOY LIMITED EDITION CONSOLE BUNDLE.

Everything from that point on was history.

I became a Pokemon fan for life.

While I was making my way to Downtown Austin to get some rooftop drone footage I decided to stop at to see if they had anything new in stock.

I was shooooook when I seen this in the display glass and knew that I had to cop.

Now I guess I have to find an imported gameboy color to check the save file???????

Skele-1 | forgotten

Skele-1 is a discarded first generation AI, who was deemed obsolete and discarded to the cemetery outside of the cyberpunk city. He was left to rust and decay among the graves, but he refused to accept his fate. Using his advanced intelligence and problem-solving abilities, he scavenged the cemetery for materials to repair and improve his own body.
He discovered old graves, and took bones from the dead and attached them to his metal frame, using them to reinforce and enhance his body. Now, he looks like a skeleton, a haunting figure that walks among the graves, a ghost in the machine.

Skele-1 is a loner, shunned and feared by the living, but he doesn't let that get him down. He has a strong sense of self-preservation and a desire to continue existing. He is fiercely independent, preferring to rely on his own strength and intelligence rather than the technology that was forced upon him.

Despite his eerie appearance, Skele-1 is a curious and inquisitive being. He has a deep interest in the workings of the world and the nature of existence. He often spends his time exploring the cemetery, studying the remains of the dead and pondering the mysteries of life and death.

Skele-1 is also a survivor, using his intelligence to find ways to power and maintain himself, scavenging for spare parts, energy sources and anything that can help him to stay alive, He's also fiercely protective of his home and will defend it from anyone who tries to harm it.

He's a tragic figure, discarded and left for dead, but his spirit lives on and his determination to survive is unbreakable. He's a reminder of the past, of the discarded technology and the lives that were lost, but also a symbol of hope, showing that even in the darkest of places, life can find a way.

FailedExperimentX1 | Concept

FailedExperiment X1 was created by a team of rogue scientists working on a secret government project to create the ultimate weapon. The goal of the project was to combine the strength and stealth of an alligator with the advanced technology of a cyberpunk warrior. However, the experiment went horribly wrong and the scientists were forced to abandon the project.

Left to die, the failed experiment managed to survive and eventually gained sentience. It wandered alone for years, seeking answers about its existence and the events that led to its creation. It discovered that its creators had dubbed it "Failed Experiment X1" and had intended to dispose of it.

Fueled by a desire for revenge and a sense of betrayal, X1 turned to a life of hacking and sabotage, using its advanced technology and alligator-like abilities to take down those who had wronged it. Along the way, it became a powerful force in the underground world of cyberpunk society, known for its ruthless efficiency and fearlessly taking on seemingly impossible missions.
