My Story

I was taught how to embroider, crochet and sew by my grandmother when I was about 12 years old. It started as a way to pass the time during the summer months but I never let myself forget these skills.

The years passed, I was newly married and living in a new town; I was feeling listless and uninspired during the winter months. I decided to take up embroidery once again. I loved how free I was to make whatever I wanted on my fabric. My stitches didn’t have to be in uniform sizes or widths. I could do whatever I wanted with it- and I did.

It’s been, in a word, beautiful.

For me, Andie’s Custom Crafts has been about celebrating life, and all it’s beauty! It’s so rewarding to create a personalized piece of artwork to commemorate such magical moments in life- such as the sonogram embroidery hoops. Being a part of a celebration, and equally of a grieving process, truly fills my heart. Every stitch is stitched with love, and I think that translates throughout my work. I hope each embroidery is like a little hug to every person who receives it. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me! I can’t wait to see how far we’ll go. I’m always excited to show what I’ve been working on, and I’ve got a ton of new ideas that I can’t wait to share with you!
