Last week, Green Racquets and Tracy Rieckert partnered with Calvert’s Restaurant and Evans Fitness Center to present The Phillip Rieckert Memorial Award, a scholarship awarded to a pair of student athletes. The award serves as an honor and memory of Phillip, who passed away in February, 2022.

Lauren Alley of Randolph, N.J. (Randolph High School) was awarded $750 in scholarship funds. She’ll be attending Stevens Institute of Technology. Alley excelled in both soccer and track & field.

Grovetown High School student Aubrey David was awarded $500 in scholarship funds and an Evans Fitness Center membership. She’ll be attending the University of Georgia. David was a four-year starter for the varsity tennis program at Grovetown.

The awards were presented by Green Racquets board member Kurt Mueller.

The Rieckert family has a deep athletics background, focused on tennis. Phil played for the University of Richmond, while Tracy played at Wake Forest. Her three sisters also played at Wake, Duke and Seton Hall, respectively. Tracy’s daughter, Taylor, graduated from Aquinas this spring and will attend Virginia Tech to play tennis.
