On to the next chapter! 🛻📦 Moving right before Christmas was definitely not on my 2024 bingo card, but has anyone’s card not thrown them absolute curveballs ALL. YEAR. LONG?

It’s okay though! Onward we go! Kinda sorta prepared for whatever comes our way given my anxiety and all that jazz. 😆 I’m definitely going to lean into this, and try my VERY best to go with the flow into the new year. Flow… 🤔 Maybe my word of the year for 2025?!

Have you ever moved during the holidays?

When you send your husband to the store for butter, and he comes back with a bag full of . ❤️🧈 I guess I can’t really complain about him being too efficient, right!? 😆

We are definitely ready for all the recipes heading our way over the next two months! Seasonal/holiday cooking is my absolute favorite! 😍

What are you most excited about cooking?

Happy Halloween, y’all! 🎃👻🖤💀🧡 I honestly can’t even believe we are here already! It really feels like we just hit October 1st, and now look at us. All dolled up and ready for trick or treating! Speaking of, will you be out with friends or your family celebrating tonight?

Personally, we’re keeping it super simple this year. Pass out candy, walk our neighborhood, and watch a movie or two. There’s been SO much going on, and life just didn’t move like we had planned. Hurricane Helene had a lot to do with that!

But we’re still going to have fun and make as many new memories as we can. I can’t wait to see all the little monsters in their costumes! Every year we get to see so many creative looks.

Well time to get ready! Whether out and about or cozy at home, I hope you have a fun and safe Halloween! 🎃

Can you tell she’s happy?! 🍣 We welcomed the start of our weekend with California rolls and lots of couch cuddles before the kids settled in. Now it’s time for some quiet moments for this very tired Mama! Painting, snacks, and a nice candle. ❤️

✨ gifted by NeuroScience ✨ I’ve spoken on my anxiety before and how it really affects my sleep. I’ve adjusted my sleep habits more times than I can count in order to help me get enough rest, but sometimes it is just not enough. There are nights I need a little extra support and that’s why I added GABA Trex to my nighttime routine.

We had already been loving the supplements from so I was excited to give the GABA Trex a try!

Chewing two tablets before bed gives me the extra L-Theanine that I need to help calm my mind and relax my body in order to help me drift off to sleep. I don’t have to worry about waking up groggy in the morning, and if I need to get up in the middle of the night for one of the kids, I’m not doing it half awake. And given the extra stresses that life has tossed my way lately, I’ve really been happy to have this supplement to help me get some necessary rest.

Being a neurodivergent, busy mama that works from home, sometimes my mind just is not at ease as much as I need it to be. That affects so many aspects of my life, but I can honestly tell you I’ve had WAY more productive days in the last month than I have in the last six months!

I’m definitely glad that I’m sleeping better, my mind is more clear, and I have more energy to face the days ahead without any harsh side effects. A rested mama is a happy mama and that makes for better days all around! ❤️

It was rare for us to spend more than 3 or 4 days together before my dad and John retired. We’re currently on day 7. I hate the circumstances that led us to this visit, but I’m so thankful we’re able to make these extra memories. ❤️

My brain keeps going back here every chance it gets.

The sounds of trees falling onto the house are seared into my memory. I can still hear my gasp when the first one fell. It’s such a weird feeling just sitting on the floor waiting to see if the roof caves in.

Then there’s the wind. My goodness. I’ve never heard wind so loud in my life. I don’t even know what to compare it to. It was beating down the back side of our house so we all hunkered down in Mimi’s room. We tried to stay away from as many windows as possible. It also helped us stay center in the house in case we needed to shelter in the bathtub.

Then as quickly as it came, it went, and the quiet set in. It was eerily quiet. No wind. No rain. No birds. A few minutes later, that peace was replaced with sirens in the distance and the pops of transformers blowing up. It almost looked like fireworks going off.

I can definitely say it was the scariest storm experience I’ve had in my life. The worst was Hurricane Katrina, but this was an entirely different fear having my own babies now.

Even with all the new worries and expenses that come with getting back to Georgia and “normal” life, I know I am incredibly lucky, blessed, grateful, and so much more. There are countless people who woke up to much worse than no power and a handful of fallen trees.

To everyone that has been affected by Hurricane Helene and its devastation, please know that we are sending our love, hugs, and prayers for your safety, health, and healing. ❤️

Anybody else MORE than ready for the weekend???

Ya’ll… 😮‍💨 It has been such a rough week, and I can’t wait to unwind and have a little less responsibility. LOTS of tears and deep breathing on the daily. JP’s allergies are kicking his butt, Mimi has been a tiny rage monster, and my mind has been a mess lately. Rest, comfort carbs, and movies will be on the menu all weekend!

Remembering to stop and enjoy the small things that bring love, light, and a smile to my face. 🌺

There’s a lot of heaviness happening in the world, but just know that even in all this darkness, we can find some beauty. We need to give our hearts and minds those moments of peace so we don’t break.

Every day I see some new pain, atrocity, or hatefulness coming out of the shadows, and I can’t help but cry or feel angry. I find myself thinking “I’m not made for this world” many times a day. I have to correct myself though and not belittle my empathy.

Soft hearts and open minds that carry fighting spirits are so needed right now.

Between a picky eater tween and a toddler, the “I love it now and hate it later” days are going strong around here. 🤪 One eats a bite of one thing and tosses the rest to the dogs, and the other thinks they can live off Funyuns and apples. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Cuddled up and covered in curls! Ya’ll, these are the moments. 🥰 Today we are taking it extra easy and enjoying a lazy Sunday. It’s definitely a PJs and popcorn kinda day!

I hope your Sunday is relaxing, restful, and blessed! ❤️

After 20 years in, John’s Army days have officially come to an end. What a way to celebrate his 38th year of life! 🎉 Happy retirement!

Pulling out his tough boxes and going through his gear was way more emotional than I thought it would be. Very bittersweet.

Every time we’ve pulled out these boxes, John was leaving us for some undisclosed amount of time. Hell, there were even situations where I didn’t know where he was going. I wasn’t allowed to know. Deployment after deployment, mission after mission, it never got easier to see him pack up.

The last time we got the call to grab his bags was the same morning I found out I was pregnant. We sat in limbo for days with his bags in the living room waiting for the final call. My word, those days were stressful.

Thankfully, “the powers that be” changed directions, and John got to stay home. 🙏🏽

I’m happy those years of hard days, long nights, and deployment worries are behind us, but a new unknown is just around the corner… Life outside the gate! 😳

I went from Army brat to Army wife so this is pretty much the only life I’ve known. The convenience of having most of what I need a short walk or 4 minute drive from my house has been great. Then there’s John working most days just 10-15 minutes from home and having job security. I also can’t ignore the sense of safety we’ve had living within the gates of a military installation.

Then there’s the question of “what’s next?” What’s next related to health and VA things? Career changes? Education? Where will we be? Are we staying or going? What place will we officially call home? Will that place be temporary too? North, east, south, west, or abroad!?!

As we transition into this new chapter of life, there is so much still unknown, but I’m excited for what adventures and experiences await our little family. ❤️
