"In the NICU, it can be a challenging journey for our families. We try to bring some normalcy to a not-so-normal journey for them after delivery. Our team enjoys making Halloween costumes to share with the families and bring them joy. We hope that this gesture makes their hearts smile just a bit," shared Nancy Carper Hall, the neonatal ICU nurse manager at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center.

The 16th Annual Cobb Diaper Day is happening virtually throughout October 2024! 🎉

Over 2 million diapers have been donated to help low-income families in Cobb County, and this year’s goal is to collect over 100,000 diapers.

You can help by:

• Hosting a diaper collection with friends, coworkers, or neighbors

🎉 BrandsMart U.S.A. Returns to Cobb County with New Kennesaw Location! 🎉

BrandsMart U.S.A. celebrated the grand opening of its new Kennesaw store on July 20th, with approximately 5,000 customers in attendance. The 35,000-square-foot store, which soft-opened in June, is the second BrandsMart U.S.A. location to open in Georgia since its acquisition by The Aaron's Company in 2022. The new store has created over 80 jobs and continues the brand's dedication to excellent customer service.

Steve Olsen, President of BrandsMart U.S.A., expressed his excitement about the expansion: “This is our 4th store in Georgia and 12th overall. The warm welcome from the Kennesaw community has been amazing, and we are thrilled to bring back a refreshed store experience to Cobb County.”
As part of its community-focused mission, BrandsMart U.S.A. donated 50 Gateway laptops to Kennesaw State University’s CARE Services during the grand opening. After a five-year hiatus, the Make-A-Wish Georgia 5K is back, promising a fun-filled, family-friendly event that supports granting wishes for critically ill children in Cobb County. Currently, 15 children are waiting for their wishes, which range from travel experiences and medical equipment to meeting celebrities.

The race will start at Marietta Square at 8 a.m. on Oct. 5, giving runners and walkers the chance to experience the scenic beauty of the historic city. Before the race begins, Make-A-Wish recipient Arya Patel, who was granted a wish to be a Cobb firefighter and police officer for a day, will be recognized. Remarks will also be made by Public Safety Director Michael Register and Make-A-Wish CEO Tim Farley.

Participants can choose from seven different sponsor levels, as well as options for individual and team entries in both timed and untimed categories. The Make-A-Wish 5K is also a qualifying event for the Peachtree Road Race.
