It's and let me tell you about my latest wash day lineup.

Happy Friday loves! It's a beautiful day to try something new!

So about this wash and go that I totally cheated!

Not only did I break the cardinal rule of a wash and go (I did not wet my hair!) I managed to get this amazing definition with a gel and a foam courtesy of another dynamic dynamic duo by . I used the Curl Slayer Curl Definer and the Fresh Whip Styling Foam.

I'll blown away by these results especially starting from dry blown out hair!!! You guys stay tuned for the video, you'll have to see it to believe it!

Shedding Vs Breakage, what's the difference??

Okay so I know neither of these terms are good to hair or to hear, especially for those on a growth journey or those who just want to have a healthy head of hair. But in some cases one of these occurrences is actually a lot better than the other. How so? Just walk with me for a moment...

Often times hair shedding is perfectly normal! On average, we shed between 50 and 100 hairs a day. When the body sheds significantly more hairs every day, a person has excessive hair shedding, but more on that later. So imagine if you're not combing or detangling your hair everyday, say you only do this once a week. This is a common practice among many naturalistas with highly textured hair, and can look like a massive loss on wash day. But if you think about the possible hundreds of strands sitting and waiting in your hair all week, what you are seeing is more than likely very normal.

Happy Fro Friday! SWIPE 👉🏾

Flashback to when I had to fro my Afro for the ! See the full video for that on my IGTV!

Anyway, to make sure it was authentic I used the new products from the Afro Sheen collection and this was my result! The video is up now on my YouTube channel and the link is in my bio definitely make sure you check it out! This was definitely a lot of work but also a lot of fun!

😂😂😂 I'm like are you washing your hair or conducting a scientific experiment Sis??? 👀🚿🛀💡🕳🥃🥚

But honestly it doesn't need to be this complex. From wash to style I typically use 4-5 products consistently on wash day.

I believe you really only need a clarifier (to cleanse), a deep conditioner, a leave-in or moisturizing styler and an oil. These should be sufficient for wash day and regular maintenance.

Now how many of each of these products you may own is a whole other situation...😆😆 😆 🤷🏾🤦🏾🤸

It's about time I extend a warm welcome to all of the newly added Napptural Beauties!

I'm Cherie (think the Stevie Wonder Song)☺ I love creating content, video editing, natural hair and beauty education and cultivation, fashion and culture. I'm also a fashion designer and by day, and a natural hair consultant and former hair stylist.

I'm super grateful and humbled by all of the new interest, love and support from each and every one of you! Especially since deciding to restart my vlogging experience after abandoning it over 7 years ago.

So what can you expect from my content?? My primary purpose here is to help others. Inspired but the countless women, clients and friends and family members who have or ever had a hair question, request or even disaster, I truly felt the need to return helping in the best way I knew how. By sharing my experiences, journey, tips, advice and anything else that I've learned along the way since returning my hair to its highly textured state in 2005. Hey Napptural Beauties!👋🏾 So for this I wanted to come to you guys and let you know about a new product I tried out. I saw the beautiful try this out on her luscious mane and I had to check it out for myself.
Just the texture alone had my attention😍
So I had to see for myself if The Curl Cloud Ultumate Hydrating Mask would live up to its name. ☁ ☁ ☁
Loves! Literally light as a cloud in my hands (think marshmallow fluff☺) and it has a wonderful light minty fragrance that tingles and teases your scalp😌.
The deep treatment was absolute heaven for my hair, not to mention that the ingredients are 👌.

Caring for your highly textured hair can seem so complicated when it doesn't have to be...
Here are a few tips that can make maintenance a little bit easier😉.

📝 PROTECTIVE STYLING can be as simple as two french braids or a flat twisted crown. You can choose to add or not add hair but really these two styles are super simple can you look super cute while keeping your curls and ends locked away.💖
📝 I never thought I would say this but you can forgo the DIY concoctions on wash day. Why do I say this? Well there are so many products on the market now that are all natural that contain aryuvedic ingredients that will do just as good if not even better of a job then your old school DIYs so you can still level up with products like these and get the most out of your wash day! 🌿🌾🌵

📝 Use Your Time Wisely
Probably the most important tip is to use your time wisely. Especially while we have this time to ourselves due to social distancing. We don't have very many places to go and you can try out different things that you may have not ordinarily had a chance to try out when everybody was operating normally in society. So take this opportunity look online look on YouTube check out my channel 😉. There's so many styles that you can test out and see what works see what may not. HINT HINT: this is also a great time to try out tip number one protective styling. 💞
