Really hoping the next Focusrite Pro level interface gets built in room calibration and integration with SoundID.
Be even cooler if it was a software update for all Red and RedNet. I’d pay for that upgrade 😉.

Just said this yesterday on another thread, fans/consumers are more important than critics.
If you don’t think people are ssa backwards just pay attention to how many people were busy posting or trying to tell a Billionaire, that supplies a ton of jobs and pay actors more than they have every made, what he should be doing instead of learning what they should be doing 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️.
Imagine that!!
First rule of business that help me reach multimillionaire status is to know who to listen to bc everybody has an opinion on things they’ve never accomplished
Another set of plugins people rave about that I don’t own or use is Valhalla reverbs.
Prepping to deliver a Fully-Filled M&E for our most recent feature film project for LMN.
One of the things with these is that WALLA and any other BG/AMB elements that possibly have discernible language in them need to be put on option tracks instead of the MnE. This way they can later decide to get loop groups in the dubbed language or just keep what we've already done. I could have already had these options tracks setup during the editing that way they would've already been printed with the other stems, but since I have to go through and bring back in any PFX that weren't used in the mix it made more sense for time to do it after the approved mix.
In the first screenshot, the greyed out tracks are the original stereo and mono WALLA tracks that I then committed to 5.0 tracks in order to reroute to a new options stem. In the following two slides you can see the change in channel widths. I also have another post that shows the automation that was done.
What's your workflow for completing FF MnE deliverables?
These new automation lane show options in Pro Tools are clutch!
Going to make life much easier for those who write tons of automation and have plugins with a ton of settings. Now you can just show the lanes with automation, even down to just within a selection.
Have you checked out this new feature?
Soundly is a great asset not only for its SFX library, but also as a browser for all of your personal libraries.
One of my favorite features is the Dock Mode, which shrinks the window down to take up only a small amount of screen real-estate. This is particularly useful when working on a laptop. As you can see in the second slide, I have the Pro Tools window positioned to be right above it so I can still see its full window (Bonus tip: I have this Window Configuration saved so at the click of a button I can switch to this view)
Good turnout of voters.

Apollo x16D is a rackmount 18 x 20 thunderbolt audio interface with Dante I/O, elite-class Apollo X 24-bit/192 kHz audio conversion, and HEXA core processing for Mac or Windows.
Dialogue compression: I don't do it for 90% of my work.
What I do use is Active/Dynamic EQ. Currently McDSP AE600 is my go to for this, but any EQ that has dynamics will suffice (though I prefer ones that give you full settings over Attack, Release, and Ratio 😅).
This for me creates a more natural way of taming the dynamics because it's most often a frequency or two that are causing the signal to jump up. This is something I've learned over the years; sometimes; sometimes something sounding loud pertains to frequency and not volume.
Hope that helps.

Anyone else's Apple Silicon MacBook Pro go to sleep even though you have it set not to?
ngl it's frustrating.
Expanding my SFX library as I'm doing more sound effects editing and design this year.
I have Soundly, SoundQ, & Free To Use Sounds All in One Bundle, as well as a handful of various specialty libraries.
Contemplating the Boom One subscription or the PSE CORE 5: Creator Bundle
chime in. Which of these would you choose or is there another I should be looking at?
Have you tried the Sound Radix Auto Align Post ARA2 implementation in Avid Pro Tools?
It's still growing on me. I like the visual aspect and the detachable window definitely is clutch.
One thing to note is that though we have multiple things that we can do via ARA, when you want to do another process, you need to commit/render the precious process or revert back to the original state. Now the thing that I like most is that you're visually reminded that after you've done additional AudioSuite processing that you've affected the clip(s) and the alignment needs to be redone. I can admit that I often forgot about that prior to this new feature.
Share your experience with this in the comments.
Another bundle from Kiive Audio if you don’t want them all.

Creating content directly from your phone is certainly the most efficient way to do it. One of the downsides though is typically the audio is 🗑️.
Even with Apple AirPod Pro I find the audio to not be very good. So here’s a new product I picked up from to see if we can improve that.
Let’s find out if it’s good enough to make it onto my Amazon storefront, which by the way prime days is coming up so if you’re not following me there, you definitely should be. Link is in bio

Yo!!! If this mic kit is halfway decent it's a steal!!
You already know I'll be dropping my thoughts as soon as it comes in and with Amazon Prime Day coming up, I'll have all my finds on my Storefront, so if you're not following me there, you should be 😉

AYE!!!!! We did it. The Youtube journey is long and rough, but the one thing that the majority will say is that it's about being intentional and consistent.
Thanks to everyone that watches, shares, and comments. It goes a long way. And speaking of long ways, I've still a ways to go to be where I'd like to be so let's keep pushing together 👊🏾.
FREE UPDATE! For all dxRevivePro license owners version 1.2.0 adds three more algorithms.
At its release just a short while ago dxRevive Pro only had two algorithms, Studio and Retain. Then a few months ago they released version 1.1.0, which added a new Natural algorithm as well as Studio 2.
Here's the details straight from the press release.
"Improved Algorithms: Studio 3 and Natural 2
Two of the new algorithms are improved versions of the Studio and Natural algorithms. These updated versions handle a wider range of different recordings in a more stable way. High-frequency noises can be removed more effectively, and the resynthesis of missing low frequencies is of better quality. Remember, there may be instances where the older versions produce more desirable results, so if you are in doubt, double-check using the different versions available in the algorithm selector window. However, in most cases, the newest versions, Studio 3 or Natural 2, will be the best choice!
New Algorithm: EQ Restore
EQ Restore is a completely new addition to our existing algorithms. The main difference is that it doesn’t aim to remove any noise or reverb; instead, it fixes spectral issues by applying EQ and spectral resynthesis if necessary. This way, the natural ambience is preserved while only enhancing the speech.
A crucial aspect of EQ Restore is that it applies EQ solely to the speech without altering the frequencies of the underlying noise or ambience. This selective approach isn’t possible with conventional EQ, which modifies the entire signal, affecting both speech and background components."
Now of course I had to ask about the EQ Restore as it sounded similar to another one of their tools, SpectralBalance. The second photo is the excellent response they provided.
I'm installing and putting it to work NOW!
Ooooooooo this already looks more promising than the other implementation 😅😅

Auto Align Post 2 ARA in Avid Pro Tools is more helpful than I thought!
Initially I was on the fence about the benefits of using the ARA instead of AudioSuite; especially since we'll likely need to render/commit the edits more frequently while working and/or upon delivering to others.
The thing that makes it extremely useful is the fact that if you do end up doing another AudioSuite process or edits to the clip(s), you'll get a clear error indication in the Auto Align Post window that says, "Alignment invalidated by edits".
While this may be obvious in regards to the signal flow of how AudioSuite works, but in practice, it's easy to forget that making changes to a clip after it's been aligned changes the nature of that clip and it needs to be realigned.
Definitely a worthy update and I'm excited to be using it! Thanks Sound Radix
This one is quite nice. I’ve been using it across all music projects for months.

Burn the Bible or burn a mouse? Which would you chose in this situation? Since the mouse didn’t vocalize on set, we had to add in some 🐁 squeaks in sound effects editing. Just one of many enhancements we made to make this thriller be fully immersive “The Match” is out now on @watchallblk. #audiopostproduction #audiopost #filmsound #protools #audioengineering #dialogueediting #sounddesign #soundeffects #blacksupervisingsoundeditor #thematchmovie
The intercom voice in #thematch is not as complex as it sounds. When I sat down with @cassigers to discuss the sound of the voice coming through the intercom, the idea was for it to sound big and full as if it was coming through the entire house, but not unrecognizable. Here is a screen capture of the main tools that made up the effect: @mcdsp Futzbox @avid.protools Pro Subharmonic @izotopeinc Exponential Audio Stratus 3D It still hits my overall DX Bus that’s more of an overall dialogue shaping for consistency. Oh nothing, just a few projects we’ve worked on at @hydrateentertainment recently. The importance of understanding Pro Tools, especially when working in unfamiliar studio environments. Setting up audio outputs and routing in a new studio can make or break you. You need to be comfortable with the software to avoid common pitfalls and appear knowledgeable to clients. #audiopostproduction #audioengineer #audioengineering #studio #recordingstudio #delstips
Disappointed in @relabdev for this one. This should have been at minimum 5.1, but realistically in 2024 Atmos compatibility is expected for such a plugin. I do hope that a “pro” multichannel version is in development, but the price has got to be right to compete with the likes of Cinematic Rooms. #smh #plugins #tc6000 #pluginreview #dissapointment #delsrant

SoundFlow Update Issues Every time @soundflowapp has an update it has to be downloaded manually from the website because the built in update checker doesn’t function properly. It’s quite annoying. #SoundFlow #SoftwareUpdate #TechIssues #UserFrustration #fixit
Being heavy handed on the dialogue noise reduction does more harm than good, particularly when you only have a singular knob that affects the entire frequency range. dxRevive Pro gives you the ability to split your signal in up to four frequency bands within independent control. #audiopostproduction #audiopost #filmsound #dxrevivepro #accentize #rerecordingmixer #dialoguecleanup
Boom handling noise is annoying. My presets for dxRevive Pro get rid of it without killing the sound of the dialogue.
