Long before our daughter was born, my husband and I had our hearts set on naming her Ruby, in honor of my grandmother, who meant the world to me and had always been so supportive of us.
So imagine my shock when, after Ruby was born, I got a letter from the hospital stating that our daughter's name was Ruth. I immediately recalled the chaos during my difficult labor when we'd asked my husband's mother, who—conveniently—was also named Ruth, to handle the paperwork at the hospital. Something didn't add up, so I decided to confront her.
"Did you accidentally give the hospital the wrong name?" I asked, hoping it was just a mistake.

So, my BIL is throwing a gender reveal party for his first kid. The invite said the following: "Every guest and their plus ones MUST EACH bring gifts to the party. Yours is Medium Diapers + a gift to mom and dad." Not even for the baby!
