We have just released the long awaited A Game of Knights & Knaves 2nd Edition. This edition includes most of the material from the Olde World Expansion (the Hundred Years War in Fact & Fantasy) so that you get ready made army lists. While played many times amongst the developers it had its first public appearance at NashCon and let us recreate the Battle of Castagnaro (1387) perhaps Sir John Hackwood's greatest victory in Italy (though I managed to reverse history despite many able sub-commander players).

The battle of Castagnaro at Nashcon fought using A Game of Knights & Knaves.

Pictures from out Coriano Ridge game which was intended for Historicon but last minute work load prevented attending. Original battle was fought on September 4 '44. We ran it instead in Atlanta last weekend. It may reappear at NashCon this year. Historicon theme was Italy so we did the attack of the 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade against elements of the German Turkistan Division supported by some formally Italian Semoventas. Terrain had lots of impassible rivers so the Canadians supported the attack with bridge laying Churchill Funnies. A great Combat Command game.

FAME & GLORY AT HISTORICON

We ran two games at the recent Historicon gaming convention. Our first game was a large Eastern Front game set during the Seelowe Heights campaign using Combat Command. The second used our experimental multi-player campaign system for A Game of Knights & Knaves in which players had to start with just three troop Stands and then use diplomacy, sieges, recruiting and of course battles to Conquer a Kingdom. Both games were filled with enthusiastic players. Great thanks to our players and the organizers of Historicon.

Despite lingering pandemic we have continued to test the Battalion Battle system for both balance and whether in can create dynamic and interesting games. This weekend we went back to the Saint Lo to the Siegfried line module as its getting some updates. On each side one player selected a Leg Battlegroup while the other selected either an Armored (for the US) or a Panzer Grenadier battlegroup for the Germans.

The result was a good battle that went down to the final turn and produced a narrow 5-4 German win.

Big thanks to the playtest team. We hope to update this module by the end of the year.

Till then all feedback welcome.

FAME & GLORY GAMES AT NASHCON!
Our Fame & Glory game masters ran a full slate of games at NashCon. Friday night we did demo games of upcoming Renaissance Expansion for A Game of Knights & Knaves. Saturday morning featured a large late war eastern front battle drawn from the Bulge to Berlin Expansion for Combat Command. Finally on Saturday night we debuted a new campaign system for The Olde World Expansion for A Game of Knights & Knaves.
We had a great mix of newcomers and experienced players who as always helped our game masters keep things running smoothly. All the Saturday games were filled to capacity and we even had to expand a bit to accommodate all interested parties. It was great to see such a large turnout for historical gaming.
Next up is DragonCon in Atlanta where we will feature more fantasy themed events. Hope to see you there.

We had a fantastic day at GigaBytes Historical Day in Marietta, Georgia. We debuted a big Eastern Front scenarios set during the struggle for the Seelow Heights in April of 1945 as our Combat Command game and then spent the afternoon doing pick up game of A Game of Knights & Knaves for anyone who wanted to give it a try. Fame & Glory always appreciates the owners of GigaBytes setting aside most of their store so that we can introduce historical gaming to a wider audience.. Look forward to NashCon in the coming weeks for more great gaming. Hope to see you there.

After a long lay off we are back to playing in person Combat Command WWII games. We did a Battalion Battle game out of the Poland to Paris Army Book featuring a French armored force meeting two understrength German Panzer battalions. Somua's and Char B's v. Pz 38ts & Panzer IVs. Please forgive the occasional white terrain patches as someone who will remain nameless forget to bring the green matt.

Big playtest day for A Game of Knights & Knaves 2nd Edition. Topic was Paladins & Heroes as we plan major changes to make them more well heroic and at the same time more in keeping with historical "Heroes" like Henry V, Alexander and Joan of Arc.

I played Joan of Arc as a Paladin in my French Hundred Years War Army meanwhile my son used a Dark Elf Army with lots of evil doer Anti-Heroes. Finally we combined the games in a Big Battle with a Renaissance Spanish Army and a Medieval routiers force facing off against the odd French/Elf alliance. A supreme test of fantasy mixed with historical to make sure all meshed well. Joan did not survive but the French/Elf combo prevailed nevertheless. A few pictures from the Big Battle game.

The development team and the designers had another playtest session for A Game of Knights & Knaves 2.0. We did both historical and fantasy battles centered around War Wagons and Gun Powder weapons. Also tried out some maneuver heavy Fast Foot forces. A great day of open air gaming and our thanks to the tireless playtest troops.

While the playtesters were deeply involved in testing out Cataphracts and Elephants for the Ancients Expansion of A Game of Knights & Knaves due out sometime this year, I managed to get in a game with some freshly painted (and not so freshly painted) Hundred Years French. Most are part of the Agincourt demo game army. Later the Flemings as we worked out some updates on Pike rules for 2nd Edition Knights & Knaves. Big thanks to the playtesters (working a bit more in isolation than usual) and our players in general for their continued support and feedback.

Fame & Glory Games at Gigabytes Historical Day. We ran two games at Gigabytes Gaming Cafe in Marietta Georgia at their second Historical Day event.

In the morning session we ran Breakout at Juniville set on October 6, 1940 and one of the last large tank battles of the French campaign. We used the Combat Command module Poland to Paris for the order of battle and equipment lists. Just as in history though the French put up a tremendous fight in the end they were overwhelmed by 1st Panzer division.

In the evening session we ran a hypothetical match up between Joan of Arc and John Duke of Bedford set in the latter stages of the Hundred Years War. We used the Olde World Expansion of A Game of Knights & Knaves for the appropriate army lists. At least in our match up Bedford manage to over come Joan's French army though Bedford himself did not survive.

Some pictures from both games:

We just released out latest addition to Combat Command - The Bulge to Berlin covering the European theater of operations from December 1944 to May 1945. The expansion contains army lists for the USSR, Germany, the US, the United Kingdom and Russia. These cover every thing from lowly Volkstrum last ditch defenders to mightily IS II tank companies. Complete information for creating historical battles or hypothetical match ups from the Battle of the Bulge to the fall of Berlin is included.

Available now from WargameVault. You will need a copy of Combat Command to make full use of this expansion though it is adaptable to any platoon level game system.

Several Knights & Knaves players decided to create a Knights Night at GigaBytes Gaming Cafe in Marietta, GA. I stopped by to help get them started though they didn't really seem to need much help. A quick shot of the first round of games. They play to do this every Wednesday at 5:30 so if your in the Atlanta area free free to stop in for a game.
