The Welch Center
I recovered a portrait of Dr. Charles Harper thanks to Sule Welch, a Morehouse alumnus. Beautiful restoration and adaptive reuse of this historic building in the Joseph Lowery Blvd neighborhood!

👏Today, March 15th, we’re thrilled to highlight an exciting event hosted by the Stay Together Appalachian Youth (STAY) Project – a collective of young people dedicated to creating, advocating for, and participating in safe, sustainable, engaging, and inclusive communities throughout Appalachia and the South. 🌿

ROOTS YOOTS (Youth at ROOTS) are proud to uplift our sibling program, the STAY Project, as the 2024 Appalachian Love Fest evolves into a Youth Artists and Culture Workers Assembly.

✨This significant transformation marks a week-long convening of nominated multi-talented young musicians, producers, poets, visual artists, theater artists, documentarians, and multi-disciplinary culture workers. They’ll come together to share cultural practices and create collaborative multi-disciplinary freedom art. ❤️🎨
✨Join us in Birmingham, AL, at the Magic City Acceptance Center, today from 4-7pm CT to witness the collective creativity of these incredible young artists from all across Appalachia and the South. It’s going to be a remarkable showcase of talent and collaboration that you won’t want to miss!
😷Please remember to mask up for everyone’s safety. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to the STAY Project directly via DM or email [email protected].
Let’s celebrate the power of youth art and culture together! 🔥
