USD 409 Soccer Field Project

This group was organized to provide a 25-year-old soccer program with a permanent home and to improve the field condition, provide lights, bleachers and other needed facilities. Boys and girls high school soccer teams share the field, and this year the newly formed Atchison Middle School Soccer program is using the field as well. When games run late, Soccer players play shortened matches because t

here are no lights on the field to continue play. We are a volunteer Parent Group who have joined together to make a difference for our Soccer teams. We want to recognize the players’ dedication and hard work, and also to recognize that Soccer is an important part of the USD 409 athletic programs. Our mission is to renovate the existing Atchison High School Soccer Field/Pavilion located north of the Atchison Elementary School. The project will be developed in two phases as follows:
Phase 1: $400,000 Completion Deadline Fall 2021
• Renovate the existing field north of the Atchison Elementary School.
• Install lights for the field.
• Install a flagpole.
• Install a score board. Phase II: $400,000
• Construct a building for lockers, bathrooms, and snack bar.
• Install a fence around the area.
• Add bleachers.
• Revamp the media broadcasting equipment. Word of mouth excitement about the project has resulted in early donations of approximately $100,000! We look to you and others to help us with the remaining $300,000 to complete Phase I and the additional $400,000 to complete Phase II.
