I bought a GT350 without knowing how to drive manual : I was looking online for a Shelby and I had found the exact spec I wanted down in New Braunfels. I called the dealership and told them I was on my way and to hold it for me. I get there with a friend, and the sales guy gives us a test drive. I then asked the guy if I could drive it (keep in mind I did not know how to drive manual). I hopped onto the driver’s seat and attempted to drive it but stalled twice. The salesman looked at me pretty irritated and thought I was just wasting his time. I went back into the dealership and told him, I don’t care, I’m buying this Shelby regardless of not knowing how to drive it. I’ll figure it out once I buy it.
I started driving immediately when I got back to Austin and stalled a ton. I would drive around at night to learn the car.
Today, I drive it like no one else does. Everyone buys these cars and barely even drives them, keeps them as collection, or hardly ever step on it. I bought this car to have fun with it and its the best purchase I’ve ever made. It’s an unmatched feeling with this GT350.
I got two lessons from this :
1. Don’t ever let an obstacle stop you from “achieving your dream”
2. If you’re going to buy something, use it to its max potential and have fun with it.
