Goltra Fire in Clear Creek Canyon

Yesterday, a fire ignited near Lookout Mountain due to a lightning strike. The fire continued to grow significantly overnight and was monitored by fire and law enforcement throughout the night. Additional resources have been ordered for a greater presence and impact this morning. Clear Creek Canyon is completely closed. Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will announce a morning media briefing as soon as they have more detailed information to share. Golden Fire deployed a resource yesterday to fight the fire; we are working closely with JeffCo Open Space as part of a unified command. The Grant-Terry Trail along the North side of the creek at the Highway 6 pedestrian bridge heading west is closed until further notice.
