Happy Father’s Day to my husband, Eric!

If you follow this account, or have listened to our podcast, it’s no secret what a wonderful Dad he is.

As a step dad, he’s pretty great too!

Sharing some pics throughout the years.

This man has always supported, shown up, been generous and self-sacrificing, provided, cared for and loved all the kids in our family.

His bond with his son, Jared, is unlike any other; it’s super special and sacred. Jared is his world, his everything, his best friend, his fun, his buddy! There’s nothing Eric wouldn’t give or do for him. What a blessed kid to have such an all-in-no-matter-what father.

And HFD to all the dads out there who don’t quit or give up on their children, who work tirelessly to protect, provide, support, care and show up for, encourage and love their families. You all are heroes.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who turned up to welcome Jared back home! To see this kid be so loved was just the best thing in the world and melts my step-mama heart.

Thank you a million times over to each and everyone of you who have showed up with all the prayers, all the love, all the help, all the encouragement, all the care and concern, all the compassion, all the comfort and all the provision.

There’s still a LONG journey ahead, and truly now that he’s home the real work begins. We stand with Jared believing he will walk again one day and that God will heal his body in the name of Jesus!

Eric, my love, I’m here. I’m here to support you. I’m here to listen. I’m here to live, laugh and love you through all parts of life. I’m here for the good, the bad and the hard. What I love most about each year we do life together is all that I learn about not just you, but about marriage, family, values, faith, and about the person I want to be. You push me to be better and you push me out of my comfort zone. Anyone would be lucky to have you in their corner. You are strong, resilient, talented, smart, sexy as hell, funny, caring, generous, selfless and capable of more than anyone can imagine. I hope today and every day you know just how valued you are by those lucky enough to love you and call you family or friend.

What I appreciate most about you and I is the tremendous amount of mutual respect we have for one another in our blended family. We don’t allow differences to divide; that’s our superpower! Thank you for being who I needed so I could be who I wanted for my children and in this blended family life of ours.

There’s a lot of false stories out there that aren’t the truth, but I know the truth. Most importantly, God knows the truth. People who really know you know the truth. And the truth is you are a great man with a heart of gold.

Yesterday Jared visited our family friend and chiropractor @cory.moore.chiropractic to try SoftWave Therapy along his injury site. SoftWave Therapy uses sound waves to push inflammation away, break up scar tissue and stimulate blood flow. It causes a hormone response that triggers the body’s natural stem cells to wake up and migrate to the area of treatment. A HUGE shoutout to @johnwayneofficial for blessing @the_buddyboy805 with a care package after noticing that his new John Wayne T Shirt was cut off him by the paramedics when he crashed his dirt bike on January 6, 2024 on the second lap of the first motocross race of the day out at @honolulu_hills_raceway. This accident has left Jared paralyzed from the chest down. He is a T6 Incomplete. The shirt that was cut off him had this JW quote on it, “Life is tough, but it’s tougher if you’re stupid.” 😂🤩 I’ve linked that T-shirt and most of what you see in this video so you can easily go get yours! Yesterday the Oak Shores community and friends did something unimaginable! They raised over $15k for Jared to purchase a @rgkwheelchairs_usa wheelchair that will allow him to be able to go places without assistance due to its being lightweight and compact. Words cannot describe how grateful we are and how loved our family feels by all you. Thank you for supporting Jared in all the ways. Being with you all Saturday certainly lifted his spirits and ours as well. We will never forget the generosity this community has shown our son since day one of this tragic accident.
