Our current "song-stuck-in-the-head-right-now" tune comes from Great White.

Great White is an American hard rock band, formed in Los Angeles in 1977. The band gained popularity during the 1980s and early 1990s and gained airplay on MTV with music videos for songs like "Once Bitten, Twice Shy".

PLEASE READ!!

This may be a long description, but trust me, it's definitely worth it:

"Bohemian Rhapsody" is a song by the British rock band Queen. It was written by lead vocalist Freddie Mercury for the band's 1975 studio album A Night at the Opera. The song consists of several sections: a ballad segment ending with a guitar solo, an operatic passage, and a hard rock section. At the time, it was the most expensive single ever made.

The song enjoyed renewed popularity in 1992 as part of the soundtrack to the film Wayne's World. The film's director, Penelope Spheeris, was hesitant to use the song, as it did not entirely fit with the lead characters, who were fans of less flamboyant hard rock and heavy metal. Mike Myers insisted that the song fit the scene.

In connection with this, a new video was released, intercutting excerpts from the film with footage from the original Queen video, along with some live footage of the band. Myers was horrified that the record company had mixed clips from Wayne's World with Queen's original video, fearing that this would upset the band. He said, "they've just whizzed on a Picasso." He asked the record company to tell Queen that the video was not his idea, and that he apologised to them. The band, though, sent a reply simply saying, "Thank you for using our song." This shocked Myers, who said it should be more like him telling Queen, "Thank you for even letting me touch the hem of your garments!"

The Wayne's World video version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" won Queen its only MTV Video Music Award for "Best Video from a Film". When remaining members Brian May and Roger Taylor took the stage to accept the award, Brian May was overcome with emotion and said that "Freddie would be tickled." In the final scene of said video, a pose of the band from the video from the original "Bohemian Rhapsody" clip morphs into an identically posed 1985 photo, first featured in the "One Vision" video.
..so guess which version I chose to share with you today? Uh, chya.

"No Stairway. Denied!" - Wayne Campbell

We don't enforce that rule here...

"Stairway to Heaven" is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, released in late 1971. It was composed by guitarist Jimmy Page and vocalist Robert Plant for the band's untitled fourth studio album. It is often referred to as one of the greatest rock songs of all time.

Remember when saxophones were the big thing? Those were good days. SAX SOLO!!

"Urgent" was the most successful single from Foreigner's 4 album, though it was outsold by the album's later single, "Waiting for a Girl Like You", which reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 1981 and remained at that spot through the end of the following January, for a total of ten weeks, being certified Gold. 4 went Gold and Platinum during the chart run of the "Urgent" single. The album has since been certified multi-platinum by the RIAA, for selling over six million copies in the U.S. alone.

A simply great song from a simply great album '4' (1981).

Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band formed in July 1967, in London. Due to numerous lineup changes, the only original member present in the band is its namesake, drummer Mick Fleetwood. Although band founder Peter Green named the group by combining the surnames of two of his former bandmates (Fleetwood, McVie) from John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, bassist John McVie played neither on their first single nor at their first concerts, as he initially decided to stay with Mayall. The keyboardist, Christine McVie, who joined the band in 1970, while married to John McVie, appeared on all but the debut album, either as a member or as a session musician. She also supplied the artwork for the album Kiln House.

"Rebels" is a song by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. And to prove that Tom truly was a rebel, he even broke his hand while recording the song....

The track was recorded in 1984. It was during the recording of this track that Petty broke his hand. Petty remembers being so high on drugs that he couldn't get an arrangement he liked. Petty went into the control room, and put the original demo tape on, which featured just him and a Rickenbacker 12-string guitar. This made him so furious that he stormed up the stairs into his house, and punched the wall with his left hand, causing him to break it. After a while, Tom Petty called Jimmy Iovine in to help him finish "Rebels" along with some other tracks on Southern Accents. Alan "Bugs" Weidel, Tom's roadie, considers "Rebels" a least favorite of his due to Petty's broken hand.

"The Other Side" is a song performed by American hard rock band Aerosmith, and written by Jim Vallance (music) and Steven Tyler (lyrics). It was released in 1990 as the fourth single from the band's highly successful 1989 album Pump.

The songwriting team of Holland-Dozier-Holland were eventually given songwriting credit on the song after threatening to file suit over what they perceived to be similarities between "The Other Side" and their song "Standing in the Shadows of Love".

Sometimes you just feel like hearing a whole lotta guitar. Like really good guitar. Do you feel me? Do You Feel Like I Do??

"Do You Feel Like We Do" is a song by Peter Frampton originally appearing on the Frampton's Camel album that he released in 1973. The song became one of the highlights of his live performances in the following years, and it became one of the three hit singles released from his Frampton Comes Alive! album, released in 1976. The live version was recorded at the State University of New York's Plattsburgh Memorial Hall.

I want you all to pay close attention to Ian Anderson in this. Does anyone else thing Jack Black might be a big Jethro Tull fan?

"Aqualung" is a song by the British progressive rock band Jethro Tull, and the title track from their Aqualung (1971) album. The song was written by the band's frontman, Ian Anderson, and his then-wife Jennie Franks. The lyrics give a description and back story of Aqualung. He is described as a dirty, pe******ia, homeless man. The Aqualung character is also mentioned in "Cross-Eyed Mary", the next song on the album.

"It's quite a tortured tangle of chords, but it was meant to really drag you here and there and then set you down into the more gentle acoustic section of the song." - Ian Anderson

"Back in Black" is a song by AC/DC, appearing as the first track on side two of their 1980 album of the same name. Known for its opening guitar riff, the song was AC/DC's tribute to their former singer Bon Scott. His replacement Brian Johnson recalled to Mojo magazine in 2009 that when the band asked him to write a lyric for this song, "they said, 'it can't be morbid – it has to be for Bon and it has to be a celebration.'" He added: "I thought, 'Well no pressure there, then' (laughs). I just wrote what came into my head, which at the time seemed like mumbo, jumbo. 'Nine lives. Cats eyes. Abusing every one of them and running wild.' The boys got it though. They saw Bon's life in that lyric."

....yeah. I guess we should start posting again. Elton should sum it up well. In all of his flamboyant glory.

"The Bitch Is Back" is a rock song by Elton John, written with Bernie Taupin. The idea to create the song was inspired not by John or Taupin directly, but rather by Bernie Taupin's wife of the time. Taupin then wrote the lyrics.

This song was banned on several radio stations, in the United States and elsewhere, due to the use of the word "bitch". For example, in 1976, the program director of WPIX-FM in New York told Billboard, "We will play records that are borderline suggestive records such as 'Disco Lady' by Johnny [sic] Taylor but we will not play 'The Bitch Is Back' by Elton John. We won't play those types of records no matter how popular they get."
