Othila

The rune's meaning can be interpreted as the property you have, as well as your family and relatives. The rune describes all the objects and property you have acquired and everything that is given to you from birth.

The design of the rune is very similar to the roof of a house, and therefore it has a direct bearing on everything in the house and even on the land on which this house is built. Unlike Fehu, Othila does not talk about your earnings or finances. And this is an essential difference between these runes because what you want to buy or how you pay is Fehu, and what you have already purchased is Othila.

The rune is used in protective magic when the purpose of the formula is to preserve property. Also, the rune can be found in healing magic as a power that restores your organs to a state in the past, a pointer to some organs, especially teeth, or the desired result. Also, as a pointer to chronic diseases. Othila is often used in love magic. It symbolizes the result, i.e., the achievement of living together and creating a family.

Personally, I view the energy of this rune as a stream to which your family is connected. With the aid of Othila, you can access the knowledge and wisdom of your ancestors. Othila acts as a door that offers a path to learn the wisdom belonging to your forebears and a way to seek assistance from them.

Dagaz

Sowilo is the Sun, and Dagaz is its passage across the sky. Daytime is the main time of human activity in old times. Day dispels the darkness and reveals what hides in the shadow and on the opposite, night hides everything in the darkness. This endless transition is what Dagaz describes

The rune of day and night change, a change of state, and not gradual, but sharper and faster. It symbolizes, at one moment, both a sunny day and a night. Because of this, it is often interpreted as a transition into a new form.

If we turn the rune on one side, we will see the outlines of an hourglass, which connects Dagaz with time and its constant flow, which makes it possible to use it in formulas whose purpose is to speed up or turn back time.

For me, the rune is associated with the symbol of the endless snake, which moves cyclically in a circle. This is energy that changes and transforms but still returns to its original form.

In formulas, you can find this rune as a transition force. Everything may be changed, and the changes are laid by the one who creates the formula because, as the rune of the day, it can bring a positive result, but as the rune of the night, negative. In my practice, there were cases when Dagaz, used for a positive situation, changed it in a negative direction.

Ingwaz

The meaning of the Ingwaz rune is associated with the god Freyr, who was sent as a hostage to the Aesir after the end of the war with Vanes. But that didn't stop him from becoming one of the most glorious gods and widely worshipped by the Old Norse as the god of harvest, and fertility.

Ingwaz is a symbol of the seed and the power of nature. These are flowers blooming on scorched earth and the restoration of nature. Like the god Freyr himself, it is associated with sexual desires, youth, and fertile lands.

Ingwaz is widely used in rituals where the goal is a positive result. For example, creating a talisman for masculine strength or formulas to protect your home; in any case, Ingwaz will add integrity to the result and enhance the effect.

As a fertility rune, the rune is often used in fertility rituals. Although its action is not limited only to this sphere, it can also restore physical, emotional, or spiritual balance and give strength to create something new. This rune will help relieve tension or relax. And of course, it's often used in "love magic" as a symbol of men.

In runic formulas, Ingwaz is often a pointer to a result or a representation of what needs to be improved. Ingwaz is also used in male talismans and formulas aimed at enhancing prosperity and is often used in healing formulas to restore energy and virility.

When working with Ingwaz, you must keep in mind that this rune represents the seed. However, without the necessary growth, it will not guarantee results. This is why Ingwaz is often used with other runes and rarely alone.

Laguz

Laguz symbolizes the primordial waters of Niflheim. It is directly related to magic and magical power. Has a unique energy, calm and powerful at the same time.

I see this rune as a river filled with magical energy. It was slowly moving but radiating a bright light that attracted all living things. The rune has a pronounced feminine energy and symbolizes a calm stream and a fast mountain river at one moment.

Laguz is also a stream that flows through the whole world. The rune can significantly increase your magical abilities if you learn how to use it correctly. And if we talk about the stream as a river of time, then Laguz will help to look into the past and the future. I would call this rune one of the most unusual and mystical in the Elder Futhark.

Laguz is the personification of intuition and magic. It is often used in love spells as a force that makes two people float in the same direction. But this does not mean that it cannot be used for more positive purposes. For example, it is perfect for developing intuition and world understanding. It will help cure or normalize human organs' work, especially those associated with water.

As a river's flow has direction and speed, so does Laguz energy. Similar to Ansuz, Laguz also represents order, but not in your thoughts, but in your actions. Therefore, you should not expect a quick result when working with it. Instead, it will adjust events to occur as naturally as possible. This quality of the rune also helps to bring order to thoughts and feelings when meditating on it.

Mannaz

In Norse mythology, when Ve, Vili, and Odin were walking along the sea strand, they found two trees, and took up the trees and shaped men of them: the first gave them spirit and life; the second, wit and feeling; the third, form, speech, hearing, and sight. They gave them clothing and names: the male was called Askr, and the female Embla

Mannaz is a person and everything that is connected with a person as an individual. This is all that the gods gave us and what we acquired over time. These are not things but knowledge, feelings, and emotions. Mannaz is a symbol of a self-sufficient and robust person, confident in himself and his abilities.

Mannaz also characterizes a person as a society representative and how society influences a person. Roles that a person plays in his life: parent or child, someone's boss or subordinate, and a member of communities and associations. Roles impose a certain behavior style and are bound in responsibility that makes him dependent and attached.

Mannaz is quite a universal rune describing a strong person, confident in himself and his actions. With it, you can reach your maximum human potential. Also, it is a kind of reminder that all humans have a shared experience of life from which one can draw wisdom without ever having to face the situation directly.

In runic formulas, the rune is often used to represent a person. It can be found in formulas for developing mental and physical qualities. Often the rune is the central part of the formula, overgrown with other runes as qualities that you want to improve.

When applying this rune individually, it may serve as a barrier against other people's energies. It's no secret that our deeds and actions can be influenced by the energy of those around us. This rune will help to cut off this influence for some time. So, when you need to concentrate in a noisy office or have self-confidence in your meeting, you can use this rune by itself.

Ehwaz

The most popular association from Scandinavian mythology connected with the Ehwaz is Odin's eight-legged horse Sleipnir. Endowed with divine speed and the ability to travel through realms. Devotion and loyalty are the attributes of a horse, and so are the attributes of Ehwaz.

Ehwaz is a sharp breakthrough in the required direction, but at the same time, it does not support this movement in the future. Like a horse, a rune has a massive amount of energy at the start, which dries up over time. Therefore, Ehwaz sets the pace and direction, and the maintenance of this path and the strength necessary to complete it depends on your desire and the goal's attainability.

Ehwaz is the personification of true friendship and trust. The basis that allows you to create and build something new. It's associated with life changes, but all these changes are not accidental. These are all the consequences of your actions and decisions. You deal with problems and achieve what you want. This means you have chosen the right path.

In my practice, the rune was always an excellent assistant when starting a new business or clearing yourself from laziness. On the other hand, Ehwaz shows its power very weakly in cases when it needs to give a new impetus to an already destroyed business or lost situation. It's like a horse. If you have young and/or powerful - you can saddle it anytime and move into battle, but if your horse is old or ill, you can't force it to move without negative consequences. The same is for healing with this rune. It can help if the target of the formula has power and desire. This is why normal practice is to use "cleaning" and energy restoration formulas before healing formulas.
