Coach Mike shared the above with me during our first meeting.
The series pitch, that we worked so hard on, landed extremely well and we have recently signed with a production company as a result. Don't want to say too much at this time, but the entire team now working on this project agrees that this amazing story needs to be told. It is time.

Wishing Coach Vashawn Patrick and all the best as they enter into a new season in defense of their latest state title. Sixth Street is pulling for you!

It's been more than a minute since we posted any updates on The War Fields. GREAT things are happening behind the scenes, but too early to disclose.

So, as we begin to ramp up for the second half of the year, I wanted to highlight the work of composer Steven Bias. This "Lament" is a variation on his theme for our series. It's a perfect compliment to Michael Barr's artwork.

For the past two and a half years, I've had the cooporation and support of many talented friends and colleagues, from different chapters of my journey, each lending not only their talents, but their heart and soul to The War Fields. I am grateful, but it's no surprise. It's part of the magic that has surrounded this endeavor from the beginning; the magic that is leading us into this next, very important, chapter in the journey to bring this series to life.

THIS is what The War Fields is about. Coach Mike begins speaking to it at around the 7 minute mark of this interview. A special journey by a special man. The War Fields: Update from April 5th, 2023

To everything there is a season, and in this case there is spring break. Grinding out a project is great, but it does precipitate the need for a break as well. Family time is all important. Spring break for our teens. R&R for Mom and Dad.

Refueled to make a run with this extraordinary project.

My Aunt Donna-Jean has ALWAYS been there. She has never wavered.. understanding and supporting my career aspirations for literally decades. No doubt I have often caused her many reasons to worry and question, but she has never failed to show up with a smile, words of advice, and unconditional love. From my first midget football game to The War Fields..she's there! Her two sons (her youngest, Jason is pictured here) have been two of my best friends and have shaped my life in countless ways.

At the heart of The War Fields is FAMILY. A town...a team and a collective experience. Coach Mike and The Quips count it off...1, 2..3...FAMILY!

My Aunt Donna...family. A bond that will never break.

I remember watching this video almost two years ago..before meeting Coach Mike and staff, before all the interviews, before all the hours writing, before I even vaguely understood how deep the waters of The War Fields would run. Now, seeing it again..honestly, this has all become a matter of heart. The impact of Coach Mike can reach far beyond a small town in Western Pennsylvania. The history of the town and the heart of the people are the legacy that hold our story together. It gives me the chill bumps..for reelz!

The original Rad Vet Dr J...My big cousin and kindred spirit in so many ways. He put me on his shoulders in 1979 as we headed inside the Pittsburgh Civic Area to see Kiss, and in a way he’s never put me down. He’s been a continuous source of encouragement, love, belief, and a hell of a good time in just about every turn in my career and adult life. So many NYC memories we share..I started strumming a guitar because of his influence. As a professional, He’s pioneered Veterinary Tele-radiology and is simply among those that I admire most. Thank you cousin for everything, always.

This was written five years ago and it more than holds true today. My first time 'shadowing' Coach last May when spring practice was underway was my first glimpse into his natural charasmatic nature at work. It's evident with the kids, coaching staff and support around the team. Learning of his time with The Beaver County Sheriffs, PA State Police, and DEA...the same holds true. It is Coach Warfield's 'vibrant, encompassing energy' that motivates others, and he shares it with ease.

My cousin and my friend, Jason is a shining light to all who are fortunate enough to know him. His gift of dance was extraordinary to witness. While I was living in NYC in the 90's and early 2000's, Jason was at Juliard..he went on to tour the world as a professional dancer...how magnificent his gift of dance was. But as magnificent of an artist he is, he's an even better person...pure of heart and generous of spirit. Keep shining on, my cousin. You inspire me.

Dr Patrick Sturm..Aliquippa's team Doctor since 1983 has been beyond gracious with his time and undying affection for Aliquippa. I've been hearing of him for the past year, but only recently have I made his acquaintance. He's seen it all over the years and his insight is fascinating, inspirational, and necessary.
