Just a snippet of my one-time experience here, aside from the hosts being very kind, professional and educational with a great sense of humor, I did have some small personal experiences during the / .

To begin explaining the many photos of mirrors and hats. I struck up a conversation with a man via a ghost box app I was using called . I had asked where he was and he mentioned hats which next to me there was a room I remembered seeing a bunch of hats hung up near a mirror. So I went over and took a few photos asking if he was near the mirror and if he was willing to appear in a photo in the mirror.

The next response I got from this male entity told me he was nearby so I figured the mirror to the left of it may be the one he was referring to so I took a few more photos of that mirror as well. Continuing the conversation with this man I learned he was superstitious of mirrors but that he would tolerate my many photos I was attempting.

I haven't found anything possibly in these photos myself. How about you?

Visiting mediums since Galloway's visit have also felt that the site is a portal between this world and the Other Side. Previous owners have reported apparitions, disembodied footsteps, displaced objects, and more.

Unexplained experiences continue to this day.

(Pt. 3 of 4)

In 1978, Don Galloway, a psychic medium from Great Britain, was on his way to the US for a WW II commemoration being held in Reading, PA. While still on the airplane, he had visions of the Lodge and made contact with several of the spirits that reside here. Upon his arrival, he inquired about the building from his vision and was directed to Brinton Lodge. He stayed for two weeks and identified five of the spirits: Caleb Brinton, Caleb's mother, Katharine Wittman (all of whom died in the Lodge), a male spirit he called Dapper Dan, and the troubled spirit of a little girl. Although little known in the US, Galloway was well known in England, wrote several books on his experiences as a psychic medium, and utilized his psychic ability on several cases for Scotland Yard. (This information was provided by the owner of Brinton Lodge in the 1970s).

The "Dark Shadow" has a long history of haunting the Lodge with first-hand accounts dating back to at least the 1980s and continuing to this day. Here's a list of the most significant sightings to date:

- A tenant on the second floor awakened early in the morning and witnessed a dark form sitting at the end of her bed.

- Standing at a hallway desk, a hostess watched as a dark, misty form floated down the main staircase into the old barroom.

- Alone in about 10:00 pm, a worker witnessed a dark form cross over the hallway to the basement steps.

- A visitor alone in the old bar room saw a dark form enter from the main hallway and disappear.

- A paranormal investigation team filmed a pitch-black form in the second floor front bedroom. On the video, the entity is well-formed and not transparent.

Brinton Lodge (Pt. 2 of 2)

This is changed hands in 1796 to become the Kirlin homestead, whose livelihood included making ammunition for the War of 1812. Several years later, the Schuylkill River Canal ran through the property, and rumors circulated that the site was a stop on the .

In the early 1900s, the Wittmans, a wealthy family with ties to the iron industry, purchased the property and lavishly expanded the farmhouse to an opulent 28 room mansion. When the site came under the ownership of Reading hotelier Caleb Brinton during Prohibition, it became an exclusive gentleman's club. As legend has it, Brinton hand-picked his guests, letting in only the rich and famous from near and far.

Until recently, the Lodge operated as Covatta's Brinton Lodge Restaurant. It is now home to a craft brewery and brewpub,
