A Scholarship to Attend PCOC 2017
*Deadline: August 11, 2017* . . . . . .
OrigamiUSA is initiating this year a program to provide a scholarship to a young origami enthusiast to attend PCOC 2017.
We hope to make this a successful experience, so that we can expand our support for young folders, and perhaps be able to offer a scholarship for the national convention as well.
Since PCOC is right around the corner, we are limiting our focus to young people who participate in Community Origami Groups. We would like your group to nominate any young member who attends your group, and who you feel would benefit from attending an origami convention.
• Consider nominating a young person who is showing great promise as a folder and who you think would be encouraged to develop their skills and ideas by attending PCOC.

Criteria:
1. A folder under 18 years of age
2. A legal U.S. Resident
3. Nominated by their Community Origami Group, letter of nomination to be included with application.
4. Application approved by the child’s Parent or Legal Guardian

Scholarship Includes:
1. Three nights at PCOC Hotel
2. Economy airfare for scholarship recipient and a parent or legal guardian
3. Early Bird Registration for PCOC
4. Lunch or dinner with core members of the origami community to provide a scholarship to a young origami enthusiast to attend PCOC 2017.

We are excited about the possibility of young, enthusiastic folders this opportunity. Let us know if you have any questions at the email address below.

Please download and fill out the form from https://goo.gl/vBpBLV and email it to [email protected] no later than August 11, 2017.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PCOC 2017
*PLEASE NOTE*: We will be using a different hotel for PCOC 2017.
- - - - - - -
We recently found out that the Marriott Manhattan Beach, our hotel for PCOC 2017, has been sold to another company and as a result will be involved in heavy renovation during the dates for our PCOC 2017.

Although the construction workers would try to not impact our conference, after conferring with the Marriott General manager we have decided the best course of action is to look for another property to host our conference.

The Marriott staff is actively looking for another venue for us. If you have made reservations you will have no problems cancelling your current reservations, just give the hotel a call.

We regret this inconvenience, but in the interest in preparing a wonderful conference in the great city of Los Angeles, we ask for your patience.

More information will be available soon. Stay tuned!
