My Story
Opened the first all comic books store in New Mexico in 1978. Original Owner of Nostalgia LTD which became Tall Tales, then Kaboom (now defunct after 38 years). Prior and original owner of Comic Warehouse. In the beginning Comic Warehouse was Started by myself and Henry and Juan Segovia. You may know Henry as the owner of Lobo Comics and Anime. After a year he and his brother decided to move on. Henry's store has consistently proved to be a driving factor in Albuquerque's comic community and I wish him the best of luck.
Ist Comic Con in New Mexico in 1973 called the Albuquerque Comic Show and Nostalgia Conventions. Ran all the shows from 1973 through 1997. Put out a magazine about Investing in comics in the 90’s called The Comic Adviser. Have been involved in the comic Scene in New Mexico and Albuquerque for the last 46 years. One of the first Comic Shops in the nation. I had an internet presence in the early 90’s. Put on the first Comic Show in Belen, New Mexico in the late 70’s. Put on a First Comic Show in Clovis, New Mexico in the late 70’s. Put on First Comic Shows in Almogordo and Las Cruces, New Mexico. Was featured in numerous publications including the Albuquerque Journal, Tribune, the Defunct Albuquerque News and Prime Times. Was interviewed numerous time by TV and Radio stations Throughout the years. Also put on Comic Cons at The Albuquerque Garden Club for a number of years where the Original Alpha Centura Star Trek Club originated. Was the First Comic Con in Albuquerque to feature guests 40 years ago. Owned and operated the first comic store in New Mexico to feature creators in store in the early 80’s. Promoter for the 2015 Border City Comic Con in El Paso, Texas.
Now, Owner of Pak Rat Collectables along with my wonderful God given wife Jeannie. Also, I have 8 grandchildren and two great Grandchildren.
I Love this business and it has been my life for the last 47 years. I plan on retiring from all this and vending at Comic Cons soon, it will always be in my blood. I have loved every minute of it and wouldn’t trade it for the world. I love my friends and customers that have came into my life over the many years and will miss them very much. Don’t worry, I’m still here for a few more years, God willing.
