Why I call my art Night Sculpture and why I love it. In less than 60 seconds.
Curing a liquid resin 3D print with ultra violet light and a turn table. Video description: a glowing blue green chunk of resin rotates slowly on a reflective surface and behind yellow plastic dome.
What feelings and memories emerge for you while watching me smooth the surface of this foot sculpture? #worksinprogress #3dprinting Video description: Feet crossed with the pinky toes resting in between toes of the other foot. Grey 3D model solid form is moved around as a smoothing tool transforms the skin surface from geomagnetic triangles to smooth reflective surface. Smoothing on the ankles, the toes and balls of the feet.
Detail zoom of a new artwork titled BEAM. This is a glorious photo print of 3D model sculpture of real human being. As beams hold up a building, what holds us up when life quakes us? The structure of our spine? The strength of our arms? Or is it our inner light beam we fuel when we close our eyes and focus internally? For #yoga practitioners you'll recognize the posture known as 'Pigeon' in this piece. The hips that hold our emotions are glowing brightly. Video description: a sequential zoom of artwork from seeing the whole image of a person holding themselves up from the floor with long dreads covering their face, we can see through the 3D model to the circumference of the neck, as the zoom in continues the digital pixels appear like a network of electrons. Each zoom is matched with the sound of a deep inhale like blowing up a balloon without exhaling. Silence for the time to take in detail.
Look up close at the detail and experience of volume on the test print of my broken horned Oryx skull. What a beauty. She is a literal middle finger to the worlds obsession with perfection. The source artifact was spectacular to handle. Made with a real skull, 3D scanner, Blender and Photoshop. The final piece will likely be on canvas. #workinprogress Lyrics to the song clip from @brandicarlile singing a @johndenvermusic tune - ‘I hear her voice in the morning hour she calls me. The radio reminds me of my home far away. Driving down the road I get a feeling that I should have been home yesterday. Yesterday.’
