A WET WEEK AHEAD FOR TEXAS: We have a few opportunities for robust rain in the state. Here is predicted rainfall between tomorrow and next Saturday.
Winter mischief is probable in northwest portions of TX, but where the freezing line sets up and how much snow falls within state lines is very uncertain right now. The ceiling is high for BIG SNOW ❄️ in the Panhandle late next week, but it all depends on the system track and timing. A portion of these rainfall totals would be the rain equivalent of this likely snow in the Panhandle (on average 1 inch of rain is approx 10 inches of snow).
We may see a bullseye of 7-10 inches of rainfall over the next 7 days in the Piney Woods and Toledo Bend Reservoir area. Enjoy some sunshine today while we have it!
We are not talking about severe storms or tornadoes until we get closer to monitor if sufficient ingredients come together….but we cannot rule a some stronger storm activity tomorrow in Southeast Texas with gusty winds and small hail. No risk has been issued by the SPC yet.
