A new addition to the Marshall County Courthouse is underway that will provide some much-needed space for the sheriff's office. The construction is part of $9.6 million in work that also includes interior renovations to the existing courthouse.

When one producer after another rejected the idea of a movie about a teen's experience as an outsider in a small town, South Dakota native Sean Covel and the others involved in the project decided to make the film on their own. He was one of three producers of "Napoleon Dynamite," which has gone on to have an unexpected cult following.
