JUST IN: Former SSPDF Deputy Chief of Defense, General Bior Ajang Duot (also known as Bior Asuod), has passed away in Juba.

The people of Jonglei State and the entire nation of South Sudan are in shock following the sudden death of General Bior Ajang, who tragically passed away last night in Juba.

Reports indicate that General Bior Ajang collapsed and died instantly at his residence in Juba.

General Bior Ajang was a dedicated patriot who played a significant role during the liberation struggle and was widely respected as a thoughtful leader who devoted his life to the service of his country.

In this sorrowful time, as the nation mourns the loss of one of its great liberators, Voice of Juba extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Jonglei State.

May his soul rest in peace.

Death Announcement

It’s saddened and shocked to inform relatives, Nyarweng community, Duk community and General public that we have lost Ms. Nyaring Maduk Yuang, a lovely wife to Akech Dau Achuoth yesterday on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in Nakuru, she collapsed after she was informed about the passing of her cousin Moses Malok Lual Yuang. She passed on before reaching the hospital!!!!

Nyaring Maduk is married to John Akech Dau Achuoth from Pawai, Pan Ngor. She was a caring mother of two daughters.
Her untimely demise is unbearable to the family and it has left the deepest wound to our hearts. It is hard to fathom this situation!

The burial arrangement for the late Nyaring Maduk Yuang Madol will be communicated upon the arrival of the her husband John Akech Dau from the United States of America

This is the Great loss to Pawai, Nyarweng and Duk communities, may God conform us at this terrible situation.

LET’S TALK: Lactating mothers in Akobo County, Jonglei State are among some South Sudanese women who still preserve their cultural ways of caring for their newborn babies.

In these photos captured by Eye Radio’s journalist Charles Wote this week in Bilkey, Dengjok, and Gakdong Payams of Akobo County, some of the lactating mothers are seen carrying their newborn babies using what they call “Dieny.”

Dieny is woven similarly to a normal basket but is made out of “reed,” a natural plant that mainly grows in wetland areas, such as riverbanks and swamps.

Juba, Wednesday (May 22, 2024) - H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Governor of Unity State, Brig. Gen. Riek Biem Tap, and the Chief Administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area, Tiop de Monyluak.
