List of judges involved in Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya and Hon. Allan Ssewanyanacase

In the legal proceedings involving Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana, several judges have presided over various aspects of the case:

1. Justice Lawrence Tweyanze: A High Court judge who, in October 2021, denied the MPs' bail applications, citing the serious nature of the charges and potential risks of absconding or interfering with investigations.

2. Justice Alice Komuhangi: An International Crimes Division judge who, in November 2022, declined the MPs' request to direct the Masaka High Court to expedite their bail application, stating that she lacked the authority to instruct another judge on case scheduling.

3. Justice Cheborion Barishaki, Justice Christopher Izama Madrama, and Justice Eva Luswata: A panel of Court of Appeal justices who, in June 2022, ruled that the appellate court lacked jurisdiction to hear the MPs' bail appeal, emphasizing that such matters should be addressed by the High Court.

4. Justice Jane Elizabeth Alividza: Initially assigned to the pre-trial phase of the case at the International Crimes Division, her transfer to the Lands Division led to delays in the proceedings.

5. Justice Alice Komuhangi Khuakha: Took over the pre-trial proceedings after Justice Alividza's transfer, encountering initial delays in September 2022.

6. Justice Lawrence Tweyanze: In February 2023, granted bail to the MPs after they had spent approximately 17 months in custody, setting conditions including cash bail and regular reporting to the court.

These judges have been involved in different stages of the legal process concerning Hon. Ssegirinya and Hon. Ssewanyana.

Now it will rain RIP, even from those who incarcerated him for years without any clear crime and denied him quick access to treatment when he cried out; plus those that ridiculed him saying he was ‘acting’ as he fought for his life! His poor mother wept at Parliament, pleading for his bread winner son. But life went on - all she was given was money, not justice. Such is what it has become; and many more of us may have to die - as we continue to senselessly turn against each other as humans. How many more should die before we realise that all we are looking for in this short life is happiness, and that we can still be happy without making another suffer or cry! We shall surely wish Hon. Ssegirinya’s soul to rest in peace, but what peace for such a death!
