The Court Martial has sentenced comrade to 8 months in prison for contempt of court. The NUP supporter, who protested being on remand for a long time, was sentenced after it was proven that in full control of his mental faculties.

The other 31 Comrades have been sent back to Kitalya Prison until 11th April 2022.

Yesterday night, our Party President communicated to President Hakainde Hechilema's Inauguration Committee and expressed deep regrets for not attending his inauguration ceremony as president of Zambia after all his efforts to travel to Zambia were frustrated. As NUP, we remain very grateful for the invitation.

We once again congratulate Mr. President Hakainde and the people of Zambia upon this victory. Together, it is our duty to ensure that democratic transitions of power become normal on the African continent.

BREAKING UPDATE; LUMBUYE FRED

Disregard all the regime orchestrated narrative that comrade Lumbuye is pending deportation. All this is packaged to suit their extradition narrative. However the reality on ground is that joint efforts between our diaspora comrades and an international human rights lawyer are underway to block the extradition treaty that the Dictator and his accomplices areLUMBU advocating for.

Whereas it's true that Turkish authorities are holding comrade Lumbuye in their custody on orders of the Dictator himself, it is not true that he was arrested for breaching any laws of his host country. This is rather a personal fight spearheaded by the dictator himself.

However we are confident that with our public pressure plus our international human rights lawyer, we shall solidly secure comrade Lumbuye's freedom so he does not face any political persecution that the Kampala regime plans to impose on him.

This morning, we woke up to the news of the arrest of political activist Fred Kajjubi Lumbuye from Turkey. This news is of great concern to many Ugandans who support freedom both home and abroad. For now, we are working around the clock to establish the facts, and I am grateful to all those who are doing everything to support his case, including our diaspora leadership teams. Our leadership team at home has also engaged the Turkish Embassy on the matter.

We all must be very concerned about this development, because as we know many Ugandans only feel safe to criticise the regime in Uganda from a safe distance in countries abroad. The governments of the world ought to protect the rights of political dissidents and exiles who have sought refuge in their countries.

LUMBUYE. My attention has been drawn to a suspected Kidnap,disguised as arrest & detention of Uganda Political Activist and our Friend Fred Lumbuye. Todate,there is no reciprocal treaty or bilateral arrangement that warrant extradition between Uganda & Turkey. Any attempt to extradite a Ugandan morover for housing Political divergent views is illegal under domestic and international law. I'm aware a team of Parliamentarian including our NUP Comissioner Hon. Francis Zaake will be in Turkey this Wednesday Night.Within Uganda we are taking up multiple options to his rescue.Among others we shall quickly reach out to the Turkish Diplomatic circles to demand for his whereabouts and unconditional release or rescue. All illegal attempts to suffocate Ugandans in the Diaspora through kidnap and illegal extradition and at times poisoning must be resisted and Condemned.These constitute Human Rights Violation and defy multiple international conventions and Treaties. All efforts & approaches by Ugandan's here and abroad that demand for his safety and Freedom remain important.

Today I was approved and officially took office as Chairperson COSASE (Committee on Commissions Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises). Investigating corruption in Government entities is no piece of cake, I'm told it's even risky because of the players involved. However, God is by my side. I'll give this responsibility my best and I believe that together with colleagues on the committee, we shall deliver.
