Biography of the fallen Bagwere king John Wayabire.
The Bagwere cultural institution leader his highness John Chrysotom Wayabire clan is Bakatikoko-Banamwera.
He was born on 25th July 1957 in Kenkebu village in Kibuku district to late Lowrence Mwoya and Christine Naguti.
He got married to Sarah Wayabire and they had 12 children and 6 grandchildren.
He joined theorogical institution where he graduated with diploma in religion.
He became pastor, went to european countries to spread the word of God for some years and later he was promoted to Bishop.
Wayabire was very developmental and loved education in that he founded the revival and salvation apostolic churches with over 40 braches in Africa and United States of America.
In 2012 he was elected the clan head of Bakatikoko-Banamwera and in July 2014 he was elected by Bagwere clan heads as the first Ikumbania (King)of Bagwere.
Wayabire due to the love he had for education and making sure that Bagwere disadvantaged children should attain formal education using his influence with the help of Church friends he established five schools for volnarable children both primary, secondary and vocational in Bugwere land.
In June 2019 he was entrusted by the Uganda counterparts as interim chairman to revive the Uganda kings and cultural leaders forum basing on his influence.
In 2019 he hosted the first African kings and cultural leaders summit in Bugwere and he was elected by the summit as interim chairman African kings and cultural leaders forum.
Wayabire had love for media and he couldn't do without the presence of media coverage and this forced him to own 96.7 fm Radio located in Mbale city and this is where he could pass his developmental message, promote government programmes and preaching gospel of God to his subjects.
In 2019 he was accorded a honarary doctorate of inhumatarian service from United States of America.
In December 2020 he was officially elected national chairman of Uganda kings and cultural leaders forum and this when he became so aggressive to his subjects by encouraging them to believe in themselves as Bagwere, love their culture, tribe, work hard, educate their children as the only way of building new Bugwere.
He used his own resources to mobilize all the clan heads bought over 150 mortorcyles for the clan heads association and distributed them to youth to ride and each youth as job creation for them and they would remit sh10,000 per day at the association account and that money would be given to each clan head at the end of the month for their welfare.
Recently also hosted investors from European countries and Arab countries and signed a memorandum with them to construct specialized engineering international university in Bugwere land but the commencement of works were delayed because of the covid19 pandemic.
Wayabire succumb to covid19 last month but he was the main brain behind the coming of Livingstone University campus in Uganda and being in particular in mbale but later it was relocated to Budaka district in Kamonkoli town council.
Wayabire will also be remembered for the pivotal role he played in restoring Peace and unity among the Bagwere,Bagisu and Banyole boundary tribal clashes over the wetland and boundary.
The question now on the lips of Bagwere is who is going to fit in the large shoes of the late Ikumbania the man they described as developmental, peace loving and unifying factor of tribes and Ugandans at large.
