The Kitara FC camp must be in no pressure at all going into their games because the teams around them are dropping points and they’re winning theirs one at a time.

They have a very good chance to win the UPL this season. In the last 4 UPL seasons on average 54pts won you the league. They need 11pts from their remaining 8 games to match that and they have to play both Bul FC & Vipers SC at home and NEC FC away, 3 teams around them.

Coach Mike Mutebi was really building something so special at KCCA FC that paved a very clear path for young players to professional football. It’s sad he didn’t get to finish it and a big miss for our new gen of young stars.

It wasn’t even just about the brand of football but a model with every basics of nurturing a young player into really top professional player. The players who came through that system just have something so different compared to this new gen of players.

That would’ve been arguably the blueprint of Ugandan football that we’re currently craving for. Everything about this new gen of players seems rushed and they’ll just end up crushing.

Yesterday I checked out Destiny Project Uganda, a football program that’s led to the rise of top talents from Lira like Allan Okello, Musa Ramathan & Moses Aliro, as they prepare for the upcoming National UYFA U13 tournament in Mbarara next week. Very talented & exciting kids they’ve got there 🙌🏽
