China restricts export of two chipmaking metals

China imposed export restrictions on two metals critical to the semiconductor, telecommunications and electric vehicle industries – an escalation of the country's trade war on technology with the US and Europe, Bloomberg reported.

Gallium and germanium, along with their chemical compounds, will be subject to export controls meant to protect Chinese national security starting August 1, China's Ministry of Commerce said in a statement Monday.

China is the world's dominant producer of both metals that have applications for electric vehicle makers, the defense industry and displays.

China accounts for about 94% of the world's gallium production, according to the UK Critical Minerals Intelligence Centre.h

According to the games teacher Amus College Mr Calvin Opio says that they're not only targeting local but also international recognition that's the reason as to why they're hosting International teams and also competing in the continental and international competitions.

Mr Calvin also added that the reason behind these international friendlies is because this is the direct way for their players to attract the international market and is very positive about the progress of the project.

Every currently-living person who has served as President of the United States is descended from ancestors who owned slaves – except for Donald Trump, according to a new investigation from Reuters.

Even Barack Obama – the nation's first black president – is the descendant of a slave owner on his white mother's side of the family.

Mbale Golf Open has attracted over 120 golfers.

The nine hole Mbale Golf Course is hosting a two days tournament with the number of participants from various home club Mbale, Jinja, Tororo, Mehta (Lugazi), Entebbe, Mbarara, Arua, Kabale, Lira,Soroti, Kampala, Namulonge among others

The tournament started on Friday with the professionals Jun/23/2023 with green fees fixed at 50,000/= per golfers in either gender.

Some of the partners that have supported the competitions include; Roots Cafe, Stanbic Bank, Royal Funeral Homes and Tusker Malt.

Lots of prizes awaits the winners in different categories.

Israel Refuses Ukraine Weapons Due To Iran Fears - Netanyahu

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu explained that one reason why his country isn’t supplying Ukraine with weapons is that Israel needs to maintain "freedom of action against Iran's attempts to gain a military foothold on the northern border."
