We should always thank God that we are not left alone. He will not desert us in the battle with the adversary of God & man. “Behold,” He says, “I give unto you power to tread on serpents & scorpions, & over all the power of the enemy: nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

How do we treat our neighbours, family, colleagues at work, friends at church or even strangers? This verse points us to the question "How are we treating the others? Are we treating them the same way we would if it were Jesus? Definitely if Jesus showed up at your door or asked for a glass of water or a lift, we all would hurriedly without hesitation help Him.

Jesus says that a true Christian must be practical in faith. Posting daily devotions, going to church every Sabbath or paying tithe faithfully does not count if our actions aren't in line with what we preach. We ought to show genuine love and compassion to one another especially those in need. May we give generously not because we want the church to praise us but because it is exactly what Jesus expects of us.

My prayer today, if we are given an opportunity to serve God, may we use that chance to be a blessing to someone today. Wish you all a blessed fruitful day.

One of the saddest realities of Christianity today is that there are many Christians, but few disciples. There are many intellectually convinced believers, but few converted. Many have knowledge about God, but most do not know Him experientially. Most have the spiritual keys in their possession, but these keys don’t impact their day-to-day lives. As a result of this sad reality, God cannot work as He desires. And in actuality, our own spiritual pretense, without true heart conversion, is actually holding back heaven’s blessings.

If there’s anything that God does not accept, it’s pretenders. Pretense, another word for hypocrisy, actually holds back His Spirit and His blessing. Inspiration tells us soberly, “The influence most to be feared by the church is not that of open opposers, infidels, and blasphemers, but of inconsistent professors of Christ. These are the ones that keep back the blessing of the God of Israel and bring weakness upon His people.”
“There must be no pretense in the lives of those who have so sacred and solemn a message as we have been called to bear. The world is watching Seventh-day Adventists, because it knows something of their profession of faith, and of their high standard; and when it sees those who do not live up to their profession, it points at them with scorn
While we may be able to fool ourselves some of the time, and we may be able to fool others most of the time, remember that we can’t fool God at any time. If we truly want to see our prayers answered and be effective in ministry, being prepared to meet Jesus then all our pretentious Christianity must stop. Period

May God help us, may we allow God to work in us, may we allow the spirit to edify us, may the truth we know transform our hearts so that pretending may not be part of our spiritual journey in Jesus name. Amen.
