The founders believe on the basis of strong and incontrovertible evidence – that the space for independent journalism in Uganda has been greatly compromised by the state. d balanced, to be impartial and to exercise a high level of integrity. We at the Independent believe that to sustain our democratization process in our country, Ugandans must be willing to sacrifice their time money and lives in the defense of liberty. We therefore promise that we will never sacrifice the values of democracy, freedom and liberty at the altar of business deals.
