Our Story
The Odessa Review is a stylish, highly literate quarterly magazine covering the myriad transformations taking place in contemporary Ukraine and beyond. Available both as a full-color print journal and online, it is the first and only English-language magazine in Ukraine dedicated to covering culture, events, business, politics and current affairs.
With its editorial headquarters in Kyiv and regional branches in Odessa, New York City, and Paris, The Odessa Review aims to serve as a platform for Ukraine’s development on the global stage. It promotes and supports Ukrainian cultural, social and business initiatives that reflect Western values of democracy, transparency, freedom of speech, and civic engagement.
Founded by the eminent American journalist Vladislav Davidzon — who also serves as the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief — and well-known Ukrainian-French filmmaker Regina Maryanovska-Davidzon, the publication caters to the interests of Anglophone readers interested in Ukraine, Eastern Europe and the broader Black Sea region. Our community includes Ukraine’s cultural and academic elites, foreign expatriates, diplomats and civil servants, members of the international business community and people around the world looking for top-notch cultural journalism from one of the most important countries in Europe.
