"People are attracted to this idea of a silver bullet. But it's a variety of practices and technologies that are going to be needed," says Sinead Leahy, principal science advisor at the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre (NZAGRC).

The NZAGRC has sought to cultivate this variety of solutions since 2009. It doesn't employ research teams directly, but strategically funds external teams investigating new technologies like vaccines and methane inhibitors.

In the Levant, there's a diverse array of dishes called mahshi (stuffed vegetables), including kousa bil labn (stuffed courgette cooked with yoghurt), beitenjan mahshi (aubergine simmered in a rich tomato sauce), malfouf (rolled cabbage leaves) that resemble delicate fingers, and waraq einab (grape leaves) that are similar to dolma eaten in Turkey, Greece, the Balkans and Iraq.

What all these mahashi (the plural of mahshi) share in common is that they are filled predominantly with rice then layered inside a big pot to be covered in steaming broth or sauce and cooked on the stove until tender.

Known as the wildlife capital of New Zealand, Dunedin sits on the rim of an ancient volcano that is now Otago Harbour in the southern reaches of the country's South Island. In a country renowned for its natural beauty, Dunedin stands out: a city surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful landscapes teeming with endemic and endangered marine, bird, reptile and plant species.

Two locals who have built careers out of a passion for protecting this natural landscape are Hoani Langsbury and Tahu Mackenzie.

n 2020, British photographer Jimmy Nelson, best known for travelling to far-flung destinations from Mongolia to Vanuatu to photograph indigenous people, was thwarted by the pandemic. Grounded, he was forced to look closer to home for inspiration.

For more than 30 years, the Netherlands has been Nelson's adopted homeland. With no plane to board, he trained his lens on the communities in striking distance of his Amsterdam studio. In doing so, he was reminded of the rich diversity on his doorstep: from the skilled boatsmen of Volendam who still sail the Markermeer lake in their tan-sailed botters (wooden fishing vessels), to the closed religious community of Staphorst in the east, where traditional clothing is still worn today.

Nasa is back in full contact with its lost Voyager 2 probe months earlier than expected, the space agency said.

In July a wrong command was made to the spacecraft, sent to explore space in 1977, changing its position and severing contact.

A signal was picked up on Tuesday but thanks to an "interstellar shout" - a powerful instruction - its antenna is now back facing Earth.

Nasa had originally pinned hopes on the spacecraft resetting itself in October.

It took 37 hours for mission controllers to figure out if the interstellar command had worked as Voyager 2 is billions of miles away from Earth.
