Ukrainian athlete Olga Kharlan has been suspended from further participation in the World Fencing Championships after refusing to shake hands with Russian neutral-flag fencer Anna Smirnova.
"...she openly admires the Russian army, which is killing Ukrainians and destroying our cities.", wrote Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on his Twitter, adding a photo of a Russian athlete with the Russian military.
So can we still say that sport is out of politics?

In the Ukrainian counteroffensive, the Armed Forces changed their tactics to destroy Russian ammunition depots, artillery, command posts, and supply lines. The Ukrainian army crushes the Russian invaders on the first line with heavy artillery fire and hits Russian artillery and munition stockpiles with long-range missiles. This tactic aims at exhausting Russian troops and creating conditions for Ukraine's success in the second stage of the counteroffensive. Russia's crimes against Ukraine are not unintentional. They are deliberate and systematic. On July 23, Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian port city of Odesa damaged 29 monuments of national and local importance, including the Transfiguration Cathedral which also belongs to the World Heritage List. This attack was a deliberate attempt to destroy Ukraine's cultural heritage.

Now, UNESCO and other organizations should condemn such a terrorist act and take decisive action against a terrorist state.

One of the brigades of the Ukrainian Defense Forces that takes part in the offensive destroyed Russian 240 mm self-propelled heavy mortar 2S4 'Tyulpan' in counter-battery fight with the help of Himars strike.

Given that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have at their disposal the high-precision, long-range system such as Himras, AFU have the capability quickly to launch high-precision strikes on them. This leaves almost no chance for the enemy to survive against Ukraine's counterbattery fire.

Combattant volontaire français de l'Armée ukrainienne félicite la France à l'occasion de la Fête nationale, le 14 juillet. Les combattant français de la Légion internationale des Forces armées ukrainiennes, "Looping" (un nom de guerre), a partagé un message vidéo dans lequel il se tient près d'un véhicule blindé militaire couvert des drapeaux nationaux français et ukrainien, et félicite les Français pour la Fête du 14 juillet. Il a souligné que la victoire de l'Ukraine signifiera la paix en Europe et la paix en France.

Les graphistes du groupe UnderDog Ukraine se joignent aux volontaires français pour féliciter le peuple français à l'occasion de la Fête nationale. Le 14 juillet, les Ukrainiens remercient la France et le peuple français pour le soutien et l'aide militaire qu'ils ont apportés à l'Ukraine pour l'aider à repousser l'agression russe.

The anti-tank calculation of the Centuria unit of the 3rd separate assault brigade destroyed an enemy T-80 tank using Javelin, which tried to stop the assault of Ukrainian forces.

Germany approved the purchase of additional ammunition for Ukraine. And this means that our Leopards, Pumas, and Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled guns will be able to destroy even more Russians during the counteroffensive!

It is reported that the procurement plan provides for:

- 155 mm high-explosive ammunition for use also with other NATO artillery systems, such as the M777;
- additional ammunition for the 120-mm gun of the Leopard 2 tank;
- additional ammunition for the Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled guns and the Puma infantry fighting vehicle (30 mm automatic cannon) and 7.62 mm training ammunition for the MG3 and MG5 machine guns.

Polish self-propelled howitzers, Krab, played a key role in the battles against the Russians in Bakhmut and Kherson area. One of the commanders of the 61st Separate Mechanized Steppe Brigade of the AFU, with the call sign "Rome", told Defence 24:
"These are precise and efficient machines, and I can assess them positively."
"Rome" was not just a witness to the Krabs' operations, but also participated in adjusting fire from AHS Krab:
"We fired at the buildings with Wagner's mercenaries from a vast distance. One or two shots were enough to accurately hit the target."
"Reconnaissance and fire components are being created, which include the Krab howitzer, a drone pilot, and an observer.
These three components on the front work just perfectly," the officer noted. According to him: "Professionals who manage the 'Krabs' are appointed by the high command."
Other advantages of the self-propelled artillery include the option of firing high-precision projectiles, and mobility. Moreover, it is moved from one fire position to another on a truck platform.

On Independence Day in the United States, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy made another call on US leader Joe Biden, urging him to invite Ukraine to join the NATO alliance. He emphasized that Ukraine's accession to NATO, even if membership does not come until after the war, depends on President Biden's decision. Mr. Zelensky stressed the significance of receiving "this signal" as it holds great importance for Ukraine.

Denmark was the first to provide Ukraine with anti-ship missiles Harpoon back in May 2022.
Following that the USA, the UK, and the Netherlands also announced the delivery of these missiles to Ukraine.
In mid-June 2022, the Defense Forces of Ukraine, with the help of Harpoon, destroyed the vessel "Vasily Bekh" of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia, which was heading towards Zmiinyi Island (Snake Island) with armaments, and sea platforms belonging to the "Chornomornaftogaz".
