"What I love" Ukrainian animated anthology presents the second trailer.
The director of "Mavka" and "The Stolen Princess" Oleg Malamuzh together with the students of the directing course of the online Institute Projector are presenting the second trailer of the Ukrainian animated anthology "What I love".
Despite the difficult circumstances due to the war, work on the project does not stop, and in the next year, 2024, you will see "What I love" in cinemas, on television and VOD platforms!
We are reminding you that the production of the "What I love" anthology started at the beginning of the director's course in 2021 and currently includes 16 short animated films united by one theme.
These are diploma theses of students-directors who seek to speak to the world through their creativity. The authors and directors of the project are:
Daniela Kareli, Tina Singa, Liudmyla Zymomria, Iuliia Skibiniuk, Valerii Lifyrenko, Olena Turska, Mariia Lytovchenko, Andrii Tsizh, Alina Stetsenko, Daria Hnylytska, Dmytro Kolot, Kseniia Smirnova, Yaroslav Kutichenko, Tetiana Babanina, Polina Vetchynkina, Yulia Oleksenko.
"What I love"- is our voice not only to the international animation community, but an appeal to the whole world that there is "something" that is stronger even than a war and thanks to which we live and continue to create. And this "something"- is Love!
"What I love" is the reflection and awareness of young people about the things that fill life with meaning. This is definitely a deep and authentic project in terms of storytelling, because it is created by people who face loss and death every day.
Each of the sixteen stories is unique, like an imprint of the author's soul, has a unique drawing and voice. And this is precisely the strength, beauty and versatility of the project.
We hope that the "What I love" project will inspire people to be consciously present in their life, see its beauty and love despite all the difficulties and troubles.

There are seven graphic styles in the animated film «I removed Him» and this style in particular is one of them. It is meant to underline the ambiance the characters live in.
In this video you can also find a lot of locations and concepts that were developed during the preproduction process. To find out which one of them made their way to the final project watch the animation after its release.

It is so cold and lonely on such a rainy autumn day. How can one leave a little puppy alone out on the street?
But don’t be afraid the pup won’t stay abandoned - little Emmie won’t let him freeze!
How it all turns out you’ll see in the cartoon «DUKE» by Krystyna Synhaievska (Tina Singa)

Every single person gets to deal with events that would change their lives. But not everyone is ready for that. The animated short film «Diver Gabriel» by Anya Kislaya tells us a story about saving a girl who has lost her faith, hope and peace.
In this timelapse you’ll see a process of searching for a drawing style as well as the experiments with the materials Anya did to discover the ones that would look the most appealing for this project.
Enjoy, get inspired and stay tuned!

Burial rites are a unique ceremony that brings generations together in honouring the memory of the loved ones.
During the childhood, the main character of the animated film «I removed him» experiences a trauma of loosing the most important person in his life. This changes his perspective on death and the after-life. He is yet to realise that death is not a tragedy, but a temporary state that results in a future rebirth of a new life.
See what form it takes in a short animated film «I removed him».
Meanwhile we’re showing you a breakdown of a scene you might’ve seen in the trailer of «What I love» Anthology. The scene where the wheel of pain is making its yet another turn.

Each discovered planet is a new opportunity. It is our choices that determine whether we use it to enrich our knowledge about the universe or to extract resources and destroy it.
Luna has to go through a painful experience to make her choice on the crystal planet. See what she did in the short animated film "Alive".
And on our side we are happy for the opportunity to offer you a sneak peak behind the curtain of our internal "animation kitchen" and show you the step-by-step creation of the entire anthology "WHAT I LOVE".
Here comes the first episode: the live video showing the process of creating of one of the scenes from "Alive".

A year ago, a director's course was launched at the Projector. Online under the supervision of Ukrainian animation director Oleg Malamuzh.
His work includes full-length animated films "Stolen Princess: Ruslan and Lyudmila", as well as "Mavka" and "Roksolana".
The production of the anthology "What I love" started at the beginning of the director's course and now eleven different short animated films are being made.
Students/directors work on them, namely: Даніела Карелі, Tina Singa, Mila Zymomria, Yulia Kotsyuba, юлия скибинюк, Valeriy Lifirenko, Kisla Ya, Елена Турская, Андрій Савчук, Марія Литовченко, Daria Gryshko.
The mission of our project is to present Ukraine and the world of young and ambitious Ukrainian animators.
All eleven stories have different characters, art styles and storytelling.
The project presents both children's warm and pleasant stories, as well as those that have a complex psycho-emotional plot that reaches the depths of the viewer's soul.
That is why the anthology "What I love" will be interesting to everyone and will leave a wide field for reflection and discovery.
The work on the projects has been going on for over a year and even during the full-scale war in Ukraine, the artists did not stop creating.
The creation of the anthology continues under such difficult circumstances.
In a difficult period, we need support and help.
That's why we continue to create our project to be seen and heard by the whole world.
At this stage, we are officially presenting the trailer for our anthology "What I love".
Also during the next year we will be sharing interesting details of our project.
