Which book to choose: electronic or paper?
The abundance of smartphones and tablets is affecting the loss of interest in paper books. And it is true - instead of cramming shelves at home or backpacking on the road, it is much easier to download dozens of books to a small device that is always with you.
E-books are more accessible, but the information from them is less digestible to the brain than the same text read on paper. This is the conclusion more and more scientists are coming to.
Why does an e-book get forgotten faster? It's all in our perception: the brain receives a lot of new information every day, and in order to keep the necessary information, various "anchors" are used.
In the case of paper, these "anchors" are just tangible factors: the cover, the buying process or a note in the margin in pencil.
E-books, on the other hand, are essentially a faceless set of characters that have no "markers" to ensure that the information received stays in the mind for a long time. But in the struggle for convenience and compactness they win.
Whichever book you choose, the main thing is to read and have fun. Enjoy reading!
