Officials trying to demolish 1,500 houses

Dear Editor,

There's a riot going on here in Ndola Bwana Mkubwa Area. The Local Govt officials, council/state police are in the area trying to DEMOLISH more than 1500 houses.

They claim the land belongs to a certain White fella and that those people have built their houses illegally. People have gone unruly, they have burnt two front and loader machines that were supposed to be used for the exercise.

PF KABUSHI "NATO" COMMANDER RESIGNS
"I fear to be arrested because of our party's evil plans"
PF's Kabushi notorious NATO Commander Reuben Mwila commonly known as Kapili-Pili has with immediate effect resigned from the opposition party and opted to remain none-partisan. Speaking in Kabushi yesterday, Mr Mwila 32, said he decided to resign from the former Ruling Party because of the evil schemes against government which Hon Bowman Lusambo, Joe Malanji and Team are planning against the government following the rejection of their nominations on Thursday by ECZ. Mr Mwila said that on Thursday night, he attended a PF meeting in Kitwe where it was resolved that if the party fails to bribe the Constitution Court to support PF's bid to have Bowman Lusambo and Malanji stand, they will have no option but to bribe two opposition candidates with K250,000 each; one from Kabushi and the other from Kwacha and ask them to withdraw their nominations so that the two by-elections will have flesh nominations which will allow PF to look for new candidates. "PF wants to win the two by-elections at all costs. I fear they can be some arrests which wont spare me. I have therfore resigned from PF and wont join any political party", said Mr Mwila.

*HH PHONES LUNGU OVER UNITY*

President Hakainde Hichilema has disclosed that he had a telephone conversation with former President Edgar Lungu.

The Head of State says he extended an invitation to the former leader to join the Nation in mourning the departed Fourth Republican President, President Rupiah Bwezani Banda.

And the President says during the phone conversation they reminded each other about how Late President Banda played a critical role in the August, 2021 elections and his call for unity and development in the country.

Meanwhile the Head of State has stated that President Banda's wishes for a united and prosperous Zambia will live on.

The President writes below...

This afternoon with my wife Mutinta, we joined fellow mourners in paying respect and condolences to the family of our country's Fourth Republican President, His Excellency, President Rupiah Bwezani Banda who passed away on Friday, 11th March, 2022.

We encouraged the family through the Former First Lady and widow to President Banda, madam Thandiwe Banda to remain strong and united as that was our departed Leader's wish for the family and the Nation.

President Banda joined the public service at a young age and contributed immensely to our country's well-being.

And during our address to the press, we confirmed that we had a phone conversation with our country's former President, President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and reminded each other about how our late President, His Excellency, President Banda played a critical role in the 2021 August elections.

President Banda may be gone but his desire of a united and prosperous Zambia will live on and as such, we appeal to the Nation to mourn him with dignity irrespective of social and political affiliation.

May the soul of President Banda rest in peace and may God give us the strength to face tomorrow with renewed hope of a united and developed Zambia.

FUNERAL GATHERING FOR RB MOVES TO BELVEDERE

Government has announced that late President Rupiah Banda will be put to rest on Friday 18th March 2022 at the Presidential burial site,Embassy Park in Lusaka.

Acting Secretary to the cabinet Patrick Kangwa said this follows consultations with the family.
He said the church service for invited guests will be held at the Anglican cathedral of the Holy cross at 10hrs on the day of the burial.

In a statement,Mr.Kangwa said that President Hakainde Hichilema has accorded a state funeral and declared seven days of National mourning in honour of Mr.Banda,the fourth Republican President who died last week on Friday 11th March.

He said prior to the burial,government will host a state funeral on Thursday 17th March 2022 at 10hrs at the Lusaka showgrounds to be attended by foreign heads of state and government and other invited guests.

Mr.Kangwa has also announced that the funeral gathering for Mr.Banda has been moved from his Lilayi residence to Belvedere Lodge in Kabulonga.

It's heart breaking to miss you and lose you my father,my parent,my president. Day and it's night has turned dark without you in this journey. We shall miss you,I remember when I could call you,I remember the day you called me at airport when we received the remaining of late president Sata MHSRIP it was in a big crowd with people but you called me and advised me to remove National Revolution party president Dr Cosmo Mumba near the plan which was carrying the remaining of late Sata that he will collapse by seeing him coming in coffin. You have left memories that I can't forget RIP Dad.
