It was an incredible honor to host the Tanzania Desk Officer from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss our initiatives and their outcomes, especially on youth and civic engagement!

Through their unwavering support, we have achieved significant milestones, including the launch and successful operation of our Swahili e-learning platform, The Click Institute (theclickinstitute.co.tz). We are now geared to implement our latest project aimed at amplifying the voices of ordinary citizens, especially women, in electoral discourse.

With over 200 journalists expressing their interest, we could only select 20 to work with for the first phase of the program. This overwhelming response showcases the urgent need for more support to empower female journalists in owning their online media platforms.

The program initially engaged 20 promising online media entities, and we are proud to announce that 10 have successfully navigated through to the final phase.

The successful media outlets are set to receive production equipments, a strategic investment that will significantly enhance their capacity to produce agenda-based content.

This not only aligns with our goal of fostering informed public discourse but also aids in cementing their sustainability in the digital realm. By equipping these entities with the necessary tools, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive development, empowering them to deliver impactful and socially relevant content.

Jamii Media's DMIP program aims at empowering Tanzanian Online Media and foster professionalism, sustainability, and citizen engagement 🌐✨💼

With funding from The Swiss Embassy, in 2022 Jamii Media launched the Digital Media Innovation Program (DMIP) in Tanzania. Our goal? Strengthening online media platforms to deliver accurate, impartial, and relevant information.

We provide capacity-building mentorship with production stipends and equipment grants to journalists who own various online media outlets, such as news blogs and YouTube channels. DMIP focuses on enhancing skills, professionalism, and business management, ensuring financial sustainability for a thriving media landscape.

We also support new/digital media convergence, empowering online media to effectively engage citizens, promote better governance, and uplift women and youth.

Join us in transforming Tanzanian online media, empowering voices and shaping a brighter digital future.
