Well its been a little time coming but the moment is here where we must announce to you, our dear friends, that we will be closing our Soundkiss studio facility in the next month.
I as chief fader pusher & ears, in partnership with my head of operations Crystal Shien, have both recognised that due to ongoing construction work opposite our premises and not being in a position to commit to an extended lease on our property due to these unpleasant sounding intrusions on our soundstage, have decided it is time for us to move on.
Allow me to be a little philosophical here, for this is a moment I believe justifies it. We started the studio with nothing, and have achieved so much. For the part we have played in dozens of musical and production journeys in close to three years we have been running our facility, we have worked with some of the loudest, gentlest, accomplished, honest, funny, eccentric, pragmatic, passionate and most of all real people, artis/t/isans one and all, that this island, and the world has to offer. For all that we have shared, the good and challenging, we thankyou. There is no conclusion ;)
Sometimes life does send you signs that it is time to move on. I feel the experience of working and living in Taiwan has made me who I am today, and that I have been given opportunities to learn and experience so much that would perhaps not have been imagined anywhere else. I am very grateful to have this island home for the past 8 years, but now I feel the time is right to reconnect with the Brit in me; to take back what I have learned, and learn more. For this reason I will be returning to continue working my live sound / recording/ production skills and continuing the adventure.
Crystal, my long suffering partner in Soundkiss, I am so pleased to see is now a strong musical force in her own right, with her feet firmly set in Formosa for the now. Expect to see and hear her more in Dronetonics and Goosander 川秋沙. We will continue to be collaborating on future projects, and in music.
Our remaining projects to complete include forthcoming ep releases by Freckles, Glue, Dronetonics and an album by Mike Mudd, and I am happy to say we will be leaving on a high.
Again to all of you we have collaborated with on albums, eps. demos, sessions, you are the reason we began in the first place. Thank you and never has there been a dull moment. You are welcome to come by and have a chat/beer/ cup of tea in the next few weeks, but we will also be seeing if we can get together with you .
In the next little while, some of our equipment will be listed as available for purchase. Some special items and details to follow.

親愛的朋友們，我們在這裡宣佈Soundkiss即將於下個月初結束。
Soundkiss地點位於近中山捷運站的精華地段，當初找到這個地點時我們都十分開心，可惜的是，從去年下半年開始Soundkiss的正對面因建商開始蓋豪宅而施工的聲音已大聲到嚴重影響到我們錄音室的錄音品質，在一段時間的考慮與評估下，我們決定不再與房東續約。
錄音室從三年前成立，當時的我們從零開始，懷抱著一股熱忱，一路走來成就的一切仍讓我們引以為傲。這中間有好多好多朋友的幫忙與支持，謝謝你們。能跟許多有才華的音樂人合作，幫你們錄製專輯，每一次認識與參與的過程都是一段激發靈感的旅程，不管是瘋狂還是理性的，這些經驗都是也一直會是我和Alex生命中的美好註腳。
我最重要的夥伴Alex至今已居住於台灣八年，在這段期間，台灣的文化與人情讓他十分感動，也給了他機會可以讓他在音樂這條路上努力耕耘，台灣對Alex來說已是第二個家鄉。不過，目前他覺得是一個對的時間點回去英國將他在台灣所學以致用，並再度深造充實自己，雖不捨但也為他感到高興。在未來的日子，我與Alex將會繼續拓展各種跨國的音樂合作的可能。
目前Soundkiss正在製作中的專輯包括：Freckles雀斑，Glue，Dronetonics以及Mike Mudd，請大家抱以期待這些即將發行的新作品，而完成這些作品對我們來說也是一個完美的尾聲。
這是一個十分理智的決定，在這裡再次謝謝所有與Soundkiss合作過的樂團及音樂人，接下來這個月如果你們有空相約聊聊天，喝個茶，歡迎你們。
