MURDER IN ARIMA

There are reports that four persons were shot in Mt. Zion Road in Arima.

This incident happened around 10pm.

Dead is Amy Walcott and Roshan Ali, 16.

The other victims have been identified as Daniel Alibocas who was shot in the palm of his hand and chest & a 12 year old boy who is yet to be identified and was shot in his mouth and hand. They are presently warded at hospital in a stable condition.

One person is dead and four others wounded following a drive by shooting in Diego Martin.

This incident happened around 10:45pm on Thursday at Andrew Trace.

The deceased has been identified as Decklon Allert 30, of Andrew Trace, Diego Martin.

Police are presently on the scene.

GUNMEN SHOOT AT POLICE IN CARENAGE

A manhunt is on for two Carenage men who shot at police officers during the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to reports around 1am police officers whilst on mobile patrol along Abbe Poujade Street in Carenage in the vicinity of Jones Street observed the occupants of a gold coloured Nissan Tiida acting suspicious.

The officers then attempted to intercept the vehicle and it sped off. A chase ensued along Abbe Poujade, Vineyard Street and Jones Street where the lawmen observed the driver and front seat passenger exited the vehicle 🚗 whilst in motion and the vehicle subsequently crashed into a wall 🧱.

One of the suspects ran into a nearby yard, whilst the other fired several shots in the officers direction and they returned fire. A chase ensued, however both suspects managed to make good their escape. None of the officers were injured.

Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene and the vehicle & several spent shell casings were recovered.

An arrest is imminent.

Investigations continuing.

The deceased has been identified as Kareem Romeo aka "Toppy".

Romeo died at the hospital 🏥 whilst undergoing medical treatment.

MAN WHO ATTEMPTED TO EXECUTE DEPUTY PRISONS COMMISSIONER DIED IN PRISON

A man who attempted to killed Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Sherwin Bruce is dead.

The brazen attack happened shortly before 8am on Wednesday 11th October 2023 at Sparrow Avenue, Barataria.

Bruce escaped unhurt, however his bodyguard who was not so fortunate sustained two gunshot wounds to his arm.

According to reports Bruce who was believed to be the intended target whilst walking towards his vehicle gunmen openfire on him and he returned fire. Emmanuel Joseph 22 of La Canoa Road in Santa Cruz was shot in the process and was arrested by investigators at the hospital 🏥 whilst receiving medical treatment.

Joseph appeared virtually before Mrs. Maureen Baboolal - Gafoor at the Port of Spain Magistrate Court on Thursday 19th October 2023 after he was charged for Attempted Murder, Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Firearm & Ammunition to endanger life .

Joseph was not called upon to plea and was denied bail. The matter was adjourned to Tuesday 24th October 2023.

Joseph was remanded in custody at the Eastern Correctional Rehabilitation Center in Santa Rosa and around 9pm on Friday complained about chest pains.

Joseph was subsequently taken to the hospital 🏥 for medical treatment where he died.

Unconfirmed reports suggests that Joseph died from a Cardiac arrest.

An autopsy is expected to be performed on Joseph body at the Forensic Science Centre on Monday to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations continuing.

There are reports of a drive by shooting in Carenage.

This incident happened around 7pm on Tuesday at Big Yard.

The victim has been identified as Christian Eve aka "Freddy" of Big Yard, Carenage.

Eve was subsequently taken to the St. James Medical Facility for medical treatment.

POLICE OFFICER CHARGED AFTER SOLICITING MONEY FROM ROBBERY VICTIM

A Police Constable attached to the Capital City Patrol Unit (CCPU) Port of Spain Division, was denied bail, when he appeared before Magistrate Maureen Baboolal- Gafoor, at the Port-of-Spain 5th Magistrates’ Court, on Monday 16th October, 2023.

DEON INCEa Special Reserve Police Officer was arrested during an intelligence-led exercise by officers of the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB), after he allegedly solicited and received a sum of money from a victim of a report of Robbery with Violence.

The matter was postponed to 23rd October, 2023.

According to police reports, on Friday 6th October, 2023, a woman walking along Charlotte Street, Port of Spain, was robbed of a quantity of Trinidad and Tobago currency and United States of America currency, her passport and other personal items. This incident went viral via social media thereafter. Later that day, a police officer approached the victim at the Nelson Street Housing Development Plannings, Port of Spain, and she reported to him what happened to her earlier that day. He allegedly assured her that by midnight he would get back her stolen items.

On Saturday 7th October, the officer again met with the victim and allegedly assured her that he would get back her items, but she had to reward him for his efforts and a further reward when he retrieved the items for her.
The woman made a report at the office of the Professional Standards Bureau on Tuesday 10th October, and WPC Pakeera was detailed to investigate the matter. On Wednesday 11th October, the woman met with the officer at Independence Square, Port-of-Spain, where she allegedly handed over the sum of $1000.00 to the officer. He was immediately arrested by a team of officers from the Professional Standards Bureau which included ASP Francis, Cpl Joseph and WPC Pakeera . The investigation was supervised by Woman Senior Superintendent Martin and Senior Superintendent Montrichard.
On Friday 13th October, 2023, after meeting with the Director of Public Prosecutions Mr. Roger Gaspard S.C., he advised that the accused be charged for the offence of Corruptly Receiving the sum of $1000.00 as a reward to do an act in relation to his role as a police officer, contrary to the Prevention of Corruption Act.

DJ GLOBAL MURDERED IN WOODBROOK

Police are investigating the murder of music producer and DJ Kaveer Alvin Nandram, aka DJ Global.

At around 11 pm on Tuesday, Nandram and two other men went to buy food at a popular food court on Carlos Street, Woodbrook.

The men collected the food and left, but were pounced upon by gunmen shortly afterwards.

Witnesses say they heard several gunshots and saw two of the men running back into the food court.

Meanwhile Nandram tried to drive off towards Wrightson Road in a white Toyota Fielder wagon.

But the car crashed into a parked car and came to a stop.

All three men were shot but Nandram died of his injuries.

A video circulating on social media shows people gathered at the scene moments after the shooting and loudly hailing the police as they exclaim that Nandram is still breathing.

Homicide officers and members of the police Special Evidence Recovery Unit visited the scene and investigations into the incident are ongoing.

FIREARM, AMMUNITION & CO***NE SEIZED IN DIEGO MARTIN

An anti crime exercise was conducted in the Western Division.

This exercise was held between 4pm & 8pm on Thursday 5th October 2023.

The lawmen executed a search warrant at the home of Richie Jaggernauth - Gopaul Avenue, Diego Martin. A quantity of Co***ne that weighed 5.28 grams was found concealed inside stereo and a magazine containing six (6) rounds of 9mm ammunition was found inside a black sock underneath the mattress of a bed located in the bedroom 🛌.

Jaggernauth was arrested in connection with the find.

The officers received certain information and as a result searched a bushy lot of land located at Gopaul Avenue, Diego Martin in the vicinity of the river and a Berretta Pistol was found concealed in a black plastic bag. No one was arrested.

This exercise was spearheaded by Senior Superintendent (Ag) Henry and included members of the Western Division Task Force.

"JOHN WICK" KILLED IN DIEGO MARTIN

There are reports of a murder in Diego Martin.

Shortly after 8pm on Sunday gunmen openfire on Che Murdock aka " John Wick" at Bridge Road in Diego Martin.

Murdock who was well known to the police was member of the Gorilla Strike Force(GSF) Gang.

Murdock was released from prison earlier this year on bail after he was charged in 2021 for Attempted Murder.

Police are presently on the scene.

ALLEGED GANG LEADER SEEKS $30,000 MONTHLY SALARY FROM CONTRACTOR:
ALLEGED GANG LEADER SAID HE IS REASONABLE.

Police are now providing security for a local contractor who claims he is being extorted by an alleged gang leader based in east Trinidad.

The gang leader is allegedly seeking some $30,000 a month from the contractor to ensure the protection of the site and safety of the workers. Alternatively, the gang leader is asking the contractor to hire his gang members.

In an exclusive interview with Guardian Media, the contractor decided to speak out, also revealing audio and video recordings that capture the alleged gang leader attempting to extort him and making threats.

The ongoing project is located along the east-west corridor, and both the contractor and construction site are currently under police protection.

The gang leader, who operates in the Mt D’or area, reportedly started targeting the contractor a month ago, but it intensified over the last two weeks, when the nature of the calls and demands took a different and more concerning direction.

POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING IN ENTERPRISE

There are reports of a police involved shooting in Enterprise, Chaguanas.

This incident happened shortly after 2pm on Thursday at Dass Trace.

Keron Alexis was shot during a confrontation with police officers.

Alexis is the son of the late notorious Gangleader Selwyn "Robo Cop" Alexis.

Alexis was taken to the hospital 🏥 for medical treatment where he is listed in a critical condition.

COAST GUARD OFFICER COMMIT SU***DE - HELIPORT BASE CHAGUARAMAS

A Trinidad & Tobago Coast Guard officer reportedly killed himself at the Heliport Base in Chaguaramas on Thursday morning.

According to reports the deceased has been identified as Able Seaman Braxton.

Braxton was discovered with a gunshot injury in his head and was rushed to the St. James Medical Facility by his colleagues where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are presently on the scene.

Investigations continuing.

TWO SPECIAL RESERVE POLICE OFFICERS CHARGED

Two Special Reserve Police Constables appeared before the court and answered charges arising out of two incidents of Misbehaviour in Public Office, Robbery and Shop Breaking and Larceny.

Elcid Sammy appeared at the Couva Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday after he was charged with Demanding Money by Menace, along with other charges.

Sammy who was assigned to the Emergency Response Patrol(ERP) Unit of the E999 was charged following the advice of Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Mrs Dougdeen-Jaglal. The accused was also charged with Robbery with Aggravation, two counts of Misbehaviour in Public Office arising out of the offences Demanding Money and Robbery.

Meanwhile, the police received advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to charge Wayne Pierre with Shop breaking and Larceny, arising out of an incident which occurred in September 2023 at a Chinese Supermarket located at Western Main Road in Carenage. During the incident Pierre who was captured on CCTV footage was in full uniform.

According to reports around 8:30 pm on 14th September, 2023, a man was at his home located at Old Southern Main Road, Couva, when a Police vehicle allegedly stopped at his home. He reported that one of the vehicle’s occupants, who was dressed in civilian wear called out to him and he went outside of his house to enquire. When he approached the vehicle, the man observed there were four occupants, two men dressed in civilian wear with their faces covered and two other men dressed in what appeared to be Police uniform. The man alleged that the men in civilian wear then requested $20,000, to which he indicated he did not have. The men then allegedly entered the victim’s home, where they took his CCTV monitor, one apple IPhone, one Samsung cell phone and $500 cash, after which they escaped in the said vehicle.

An extensive investigation was conducted and the suspects were detained and interviewed, which led to charges being laid against the accused.

The investigation was supervised by Snr Superintendent Garvin Simon, conducted by ASP Ablacksingh, ASP Dipchand, Sgt Howard, Cpl Baboolal, with legal advice by Legal Officer Sgt Basant.

Whilst in another incident, around 9pm on 22nd September 2023, police received reports of a suspected break in at a Chinese Supermarket located at Western Main Road, Carenage. When police arrived, the manager of the supermarket observed that the padlock she placed on the front door to secure the premises was changed. As a result, she was unable to make checks inside the supermarket at that time. On 23rd September 2023, the owner of the supermarket removed the padlock to gain access to his business place. When he entered the premises, he made checks and noticed $10,000 cash and DVR player missing. He contacted the Carenage Police Station and officers arrived, processed the scene, extracted video footage, witnesses were identified and statements were taken.

Enquiries continued and the suspect Pierre was arrested and charged with Shop Breaking and Larceny.
